Le Deli Robuchon

My visit was prompted by the viral "cube croissant," and I must say, it did not disappoint. The moment I took my first bite, I was transported to a world of culinary perfection. The croissant was a work of art, boasting a perfect balance of flakiness and buttery goodness. Having sampled the pastries, I'm now eagerly anticipating my next visit to explore more of their deli options.

Famous for the cube croissant, Le Deli Robuchon is a bit of a treat as the prices are more than you would normally pay in London for pastries. I had been wanting to try this cafe since I had gone a couple of times to the Robuchon restaurant many years ago when it was in Covent Garden. I'm glad I did finally make it here. The chocolate cube croissant was just the right size, not too sweet and not too rich. I also had a cheese twist (I forget the fancy name they have for it), but probably wouldn't buy that again. It was at the end of the day, so it may just be that it is better earlier on. The croissant I had early afternoon. The chouquettes (sugar topped pastries) were absolutely delicious and I would buy more if I was in the area. They come in a packet, which makes a great gift. I had them a couple of days later. The toilet was clean. The interior looked spacious, though on a warm day, it didn't seem that appealing. Perhaps on a cold day it might feel cosy. There is an outdoor area, but it is on the main street, so I'd recommend heading across the road to the park (weather permitting).

This deli is dog-friendly (well-behaved dogs are welcome). I emailed to enquire and I received a very swift reply. The seating is tight so I would say large dogs could be an issue to fellow diners. My toy poodle was in a carrier and sat next to me, very quietly. Roast chicken with roasted potatoes and plaster veges were delicious. Meat was tasty and moist. Very nice ambience and I had a really nice lunch time.

Here’s what you need to know: The food is really good for the pastry (but OK for the sandwiches and Savories) and the ambiance and location are terrific. We enjoyed absolutely fantastic customer service from Denise. the cortado (espresso with foam) was prepared to perfection using a really nice roast of beans. The croissant cubes are fantastic : we thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate (terrific valrohna chocolate) and the vanilla cube. The dark chocolate mousse cake was outstanding too. Overall, I would definitely recommend a visit for an afternoon espresso and pastry, especially if you’re in the green park neighborhood.

I had high expectations for the cube croissant... it was nice, but nothing special. I wouldn’t call it croissant. Not only for the shape... but also the taste. I was expecting a crunchy texture on the outside. But it was just soft The vanilla cream was nice... I'm not in a rush to spend another £6.5... once is enough :)
