Very tasty burger - went for a single this time but would probably go bigger next time. Need to come back and try everything on the menu 🤤
The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive, more so than most restaurants I've been to in London.
You can pay and split the bill by scanning a QR code on the table which is very handy.
As others have mentioned, the mini complimentary soft serve ice cream at the end is a nice touch.
We had brisket spring rolls, chicken nuggets, chips, burgers.
Everyone knows the Black Bear burgers are some of the best in the London, but what really surprised me me was how delicious the sides were! All the food was super impressive here. The vibe in here is also really good and the staff friendly and helpful. Drinks are good too!
Edit: I revisited last night and unfortunately our experience was significantly worse. All of our food came out cold and the service was really inattentive. Took me about 10 minutes trying to a waitresses attention. Music was also too loud. Therefore unfortunately is losing a star. The food is still great though.
The burger was so good here! Unfortunately they didn’t have the Brisket Burger, so I went for the Miso Bacon Burger, but it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in London! The nuggets were a delicious starter too and finishing off with complimentary ice cream was a lovely touch. Recommend, but maybe for a lunch spot as menu options go quickly!
Definitely my new favourite burger place in London! I absolutely love their burgers in terms the quality of the meat and how it’s cooked. I always share fries and chicken nuggets with my friends when we go there and the portions are just right. And they serve icecream at the end which is really cute. Would 100% recommend.
Brisket burgers are elite! It’s my go to burger and black bear. Price as a whole is very pricey but when you have a spare 20 you’ve got to go here on an empty stomach, I promise you will not be disappointed. Also if you’re gluten intolerant I advise bringing your own burger buns and you can enjoy with your gluten friends.
Marlon is a fantastic guy! He has served me both times I have been. Very friendly, informative and helpful!! Great staff member to have :)
Dark Rum Punch cocktail is a winner. To start with we had the Buttermilk fried chicken wings with buffalo and blue cheese sauce and the brisket spring rolls, fried wonton with 12hr beer braised brisket smoked bacon and cheese with pickles garlic mayo and fresh chillies. Both were Excellent. For mains we both went for the Brisket burger dry aged beef, cheese, 12hr beer braised brisket, pink pickled onions and garlic mayo. I did add a 2nd dry aged beef patty to mine as I'm a big eater. The burgers were messy but Amazing. We should have only ordered one portion of fries between us as it was a lot of eating. The free miniature ice cream cones to finish are a really nice touch. Staff were helpful and friendly. If your in the area its well worth going.
I left black burger as a very happy customer who's belly was very fully And I can definitely say I'm going back again I liked the service I received and the food was really good also. The burger was cooked really well and the fries too as it's my first time trying it I had to double up on the burger. If your feeling to have some naughty food I would highly recommend trying this place out. The rum punch drink was really nice also just would have been nicer if they came in bigger glasses
Gotta admit, those burgers were something special. The brisket one was unique, dripping with flavour. And let's talk about those buns - soft, slightly sweet, and covered in sesame seeds. But for me, the winner was definitely the Black Bear Burger - it just hit all the right notes. Highly recommend and will come back for more!
Alright hear me now, after the long wait I finally made my appearance at the hyped black bear burger, said to have the BEST burgers in London. The last time I heard a restaurant had the best something in London, I was unfortunately disappointed. Nonetheless, I wished this time there would be a glimmer of hope and that it would be different. The service was amazing; a really friendly vibe to the place which took the culinary experience to another level. It was nice and cool in the restaurant, with plenty of seating for a hot summers day. They had a very efficient payment system which made it very easy to leave whenever you wanted which was good. They even blessed us with free ice cream at the end. In my opinion, I can’t honestly say I had the best burger in London—though in all fairness it’s going to take something really special for me to even consider calling anything the best in London. They had a very efficient payment system which made it very easy to pay and then leave when you want which was good. They even blessed us with free ice cream at the end. The whole meal came up to £27.
Fries
These skin-on fries were pretty decent; good potato content and fluffy, too. They were as crispy as I expected but were definitely lacking some salt. There was a Five Guys-ness to them though not to the same level. Overall, they didn’t feel like an inconvenience to eat which is definitely a positive. 6.5/10
Chicken nuggets
The highly praised nuggets were something I believed to be quite unique—especially when it comes to a restaurant like this—and the way they were made was quite different in itself. They were very well seasoned, the coating was crispy, and the chicken breast was cooked really well. The nuggets were accompanied with their blue cheese and buffalo sauce, which I wasn’t really a fan of. For a total of £7 they do give you a considerable amount of them—especially given that they’re only a side. I was a bit unsure about the seasoning of the nuggets, but ultimately, I enjoyed them. 6.7/10
Miso bacon burger
It’s time for the main event: the burger. Now although the Miso bacon burger wasn’t their signature one, I had read the description and was more intrigued to try it. It was £12 for a single burger, but if you have the money for it I would advise you to double up. The patty was incredibly juicy, the sauce inside was very nice, and the onions were a great touch. The seeded bun was a good move for the sturdiness of it all, especially in the top one. The bottom bun, however, wasn’t a match for the miso sauce; it left it slightly soggy—though that wasn’t enough to detract from the positives of the burger. I believe it could have been improved with some fresh iceberg lettuce, but I did enjoy it. 7.4/10
Overall culinary experience: 8/10
