We took our 6 year old for her birthday dinner. I mentioned that on the phone when booking, and our server remembered and said happy birthday as we arrived. That was the start of absolutely brilliant service that made our daughter feel like a queen. She loves fortune cookies so they brought her extra, plus sweets, plus a free desert with a candle that they brought out singing happy birthday. Really charming and such a treat. It was our first time there and its an excellent local neighbourhood restaurant - the spicy aubergine and sweet and sour chicken were particularly good. We will be back!
I have discovered a fantastic Chinese restaurant that has quickly become one of my favorites. The menu is extensive, offering a wide range of delicious options. As a pescatarian, I can't personally judge the meat dishes, but my family and friends were all very impressed with their choices. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients, especially the fish and vegetables, which adds a delightful touch to the meals. The service is attentive, ensuring that our dining experience is enjoyable and hassle-free. I also frequently rely on their takeout service for meals at home, and the quality remains consistently high. The prices are fair and in line with what you would expect in the area, providing excellent value for the quality of food and service. If you plan to dine in, I highly recommend booking in advance, as this place tends to get busy. Overall, this fantastic Chinese restaurant has become a top favorite of mine, and I eagerly look forward to returning for more delightful meals.
Perfect traditional Chinese. Everything was very fresh and clean, homemade dim sum was amazing and service was delightful. I'm sure this will be a new regular for me

The price of eating out has gone up so if you are going to splash out out has to be worth spending your hard-earned cash - and this restaurant does not disappoint.
'148' remains well loved by locals and I have been eating here for over twenty years: formerly known as Mr Liu, the new management team have definitely settled in and made it their own.
The food is still excellent - freshly prepared and beautifully seasoned: the staff are gorgeous, they will remember you and are happy to converse with you or, sensitively, leave you in peace.

First but definitely not my last visit to 148. Turned up without a table reservation but was easily accommodated. Thank you. Our order was taken promptly. Friendly welcoming staff. Good size portions. Hot and tasty food.
Re. Covid measures- sanitiser at the door for use by patrons, staff wearing face coverings and socially distanced tables and chairs wiped clean after vacated. I will definitely be back.

Wonderful staff, seated us at short notice and were attentive and swift with service. The food is delicious and the portions are enough to share. My second visit and most certainly not my last! Such a great little place.
The staff were amazing and very tentative. The service was great. I was sat near the door but my girlfriend felt cold, they changed our table straight away and kept coming back to ask if she was okay and warm enough.
The food is delicious, especially the dim sum. Overall it was a lovely experience can’t recommend this place enough.
My favourite go to when I'm in need of seafood with crispy noodles and a nice glass if red. Staff are welcoming, and make you feel at home.
Formerly known as 'Mr Lou' this is one of the most consistent and clean Chinese restaurants in South East London. The food is fresh and good. Portions are also large but even though the portions are huge, the food feels super light. This place will always be one of my favourites. Highly recommended!
