Hotel Chocolat London, Moorgate

Wow, pleasantly surprised by the quality of the chocolate here. Got it home and the wife and I are huge fans despite 15 hours in a suitcase! Great selection for ages, celebration types, etc. and at all kind of price points as well. Samplers, different types of chocolates, even an egg you can break open with candy inside. You can't leave here without finding SOMETHING for the folks in your life that deserve a treat!

Update: Since Feb 2020 they refurbished and added a small cafe and seats (which is exactly what I suggested a couple of years earlier :)), though you may need to ask to use the toilet. Though I can imagine seats being full during busy times. Still a pretty great selection for a Hotel Chocolat store. You may need to ignore older pics from me and others. I'll try to remember to add updated pics (including cafe) when I next visit. NOTE: This branch will be closed from 22nd Jan till 10th Feb 2020 for refurbishment, and will reopen with a Cafe!! (as suggested in my previous review! :) ) The new cafe probably won't be using Velvetiser machines anymore, so if you are considering buying a Velvetiser and want to try some full portions for a couple of quid, get there before 22nd Jan! I guess some of the existing review pictures will then become obsolete, wonder if it'll be easy to clean them up? (though thank you for your service to everyone involved!) Older review: Relatively large branch! They do not have a sit down cafe (that’s probably the biggest improvement I can suggest), but they do serve ice cream and hot chocolate (remember to get a VIP card for 10% off). In fact the hot chocolate is made using same Velvestiser machines that they sell, so an excellent opportunity to try before you buy!
