Six By Nico Canary Wharf

We had the Tokyo menu, and the food was absolutely outstanding, each course was incredibly well presented and tasted amazing. You can really taste the effort and thought that has gone into the menu here. Its also clear that everyone in the kitchen takes pride in their work as the presentation and attention to detail was incredible. Unfortunately our service was not as good, our server was quite rude and seemed to want to hurry us into ordering extra items, constantly trying to upsell us on drinks and talked so fast and in such a thick accent that it was very hard to understand him. The pushiness on drinks was what I found most disappointing, we were hurried and quite forcefully encouraged to go for a wine paring, despite the fact that we had said we didn't want to drink alcohol on this occasion. The server returned at least twice to try and get us to take the wine pairing but we refused. After the second course he came back and tried to get me to order a beer with my food, after all the previous harassment I gave in and ordered a beer, which was promptly forgotten until desert some 50 minutes later. At this point the server returned and apologised for forgetting the beer but after 4 courses I refused it as we were halfway through our last course. To top it all off, the bill we were presented with included both the wine pairing and beer, both of which we had not received. Overall its a shame about the service as this was a lovely meal otherwise. I think its important to note that not all of the service staff deserve this poor review, the Scottish man that served one of our courses for example was very friendly and knowledgeable about the food, as were all the other staff that we encountered Unfortunately our main server that managed our table (our bill just says "H"?), just didn't meet the same standards.

Theme : Japanese. It was genuinely authentic Japanese flavours! (have been to Japan for a month). Was incredibly delicious and there was no fault with any dish. All dishes came at a good time and the dishes may seem small but after dish 5 was filling! Highly highly recommend!! Great price and great food. What more can I say!

Very good quality food. The portions are a little small but you do get a six course meal and the food itself is very tasty. The only thing I feel could be improved is the wait time between each course. We found ourselves waiting a minimum of 15 minutes between the time the waiter cleared out plates until the next course. The restaurant wasn't even busy so I felt this was too long of a wait between courses. We spent over 3 hours in the restaurant for our 6 course meal and then to pay the bill felt like another 15 minutes wait.

As a vegetarian I was surprised to be able to have a full vegetarian course. The food was nicely presented and tasty. However, very long wait between courses (30-40 minutes almost).

We love the Six by Nico concept and are regulars. However we normal go to the Fitzrovia branch. This was our second time at the Canary Wharf restaurant, as they were running the Chippie menu at an amazing offer price. We decided to travel over and at the last minute added the in-laws. A quick call and they added them to our table. When we arrived they told us as it was the restaurants anniversary they gave us a bottle of champagne on the house - this was on top of the insanely good offer which included an aperitif and pairing wines. A long and boozy lunch later they then surprised my father in law with a happy birthday desert and more free Prosecco for the table. The staff throughout were attentive and amazing. I think we will be travelling over to Canary Wharf more often.
