Everything about this place is positive apart from having to wait to be seated. Staff are very friendly and attentive my elderly mother was asked if she would like a cushion, which she initially declined and then agreed to. Allergy questions were asked and any additional requirements like sauces etc, nothing was forgotten. There is a disabled toilet downstairs as the main toilets are upstairs. The decor is an eclectic mixture but gives a lovely atmosphere. Food is always excellent and very 😋
Lovely atmosphere, especially at night with the warm lighting and intricate decor and design. Been there once for dinner with friends and absolutely loved the ambience. The only downside was their food. The plate was kinda cold and the flavours weren't as rich as expected. However, the sweet potato fries and dessert were amazing.
I was looking for somewhere to have a quick bite and have coffee, I saw this Megan’s branch near the Rose Theatre. It’s a very nice and cozy place to hang out to have a cuppa. Great ambience and interiors. The staff were also friendly. The lemon and rosemary cake was scrumptious. I will definitely come back.
I loved every bit of my experience at Megan's. The décor is lovely--cozy yet refined.
I was pleasantly surprised by the number of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. I was so excited to try the plant-based lamb, and it was excellent! Everything was fresh and tasty.
It's definitely in my top restaurants, and I'm planning on returning when I make it back to Kingston.
The staff is so very friendly, which makes for a welcoming and laid-back atmosphere.
First time today, food was good, pancakes with bacon was good,
the hollandaise on Benedict was thick, salty and cold.
The cheese fondue was good, it had started to split but tasted good.
Coffee was nice, service was ok. Love the cafe/interior, really fantastic.
We had brunch here for my girlfriends birthday and the service and food were just fantastic. Amazing choice of such yummy food and drink. Would definitely go again. Really recommend this place.
Had breakfast in Megan’s at the Griffin (Kingston) on Friday 21st July. It was my first time in a Megan’s. I will definitely return. Lovely premises. Very good food. I had the avocado on sourdough with a side of bacon and it was excellent. I was also gifted a sample of carrot cake by my server Ellie. I would not normally choose carrot cake but this cake is fantastic. One of the best carrot cakes I have ever eaten. Service was wonderful - Ellie took a real interest in her customers and I really appreciated her kindness.
I had lunch and spent a few hours studying for an upcoming exam. The hostess offered to seat my in a quiet area and the food and coffee were delicious. A great place to spend an afternoon.
Around a month and a half ago we had an intimate and laid back wedding reception at Megan's and we couldn't be happier with how the late afternoon/evening turned out!
The location was perfect for us as we'd had our marriage just across the road at Kingston registry office after which our group of 32 people had the upstairs to ourselves. First of all the decor and vibe of the upstairs area is great and the entrance up the stairs with the fairy lights felt magical. The staff were very kind to arrange the seating to long tables which provided ample space for people to also stand and socialise.
As for the food and drinks, our guests were singing praises! We had the 3 courses party menu which was delicious and the portions are incredibly generous. We're quite a mixed group, with many vegetarians in the mix, however when we saw the menu options available at Megan's we knew it would be the best place for dinner for our group.
The pacing of the food coming out was perfect. We had time for the group to settle in with the welcoming drinks and to do a welcoming toast. In between the starters and the main we played the couple shoe game and then between the main and dessert we had time for a speech. Thank you to the friendly staff members for being receptive when needing more wine etc. We continued to another place down the road because we wanted to have drinks late into the night, but we were enjoying so much at Megan's that we arrived later than planned to our next reservation!
A massive shout out to the managers Tilly and Ivan, as they were communicating with us in the lead up to our event and they were not only incredibly friendly but went above and beyond to make our day special. We felt very well looked after! Everything was perfect and it was the best day of our lives!
I can highly recommend this place especially for parties or even for a wedding reception like we did!
Service could have been better, especially getting seated, but not for lack of trying by the lovely staff. They are simply too busy having to carry plates and platters from the kitchen located on the first floor.
Delicious food and exciting menu.
What I don't agree with is their approach to dogs. Being dog friendly and allowing dogs into your establishment is one thing. Allowing them to sit on the upholstered furniture on a wet day is just beyond comprehension. Surely this should impact hygiene ratings?
