Great pub, perfect place to come after a nice walk along the canal; dog friendly too is a massive bonus. The food is great and reasonably priced, the steak and ale pie was awesome with melt in the mouth meat!
Highly recommended for its friendly staff, nice atmosphere and awesome food 👍
Absolutely fantastic, the staff were very freindly, the food was excellent, we went back 3 times during our weeks holiday, close by. The pub is dog friendly and at the side of the grand Union canal, what a fantastic setting on what has been the hottest week of the year so far!
We love this traditional pub. We went again on Sunday before we took our dog for a walk along the canal towpath, we eat before we walk as the portions are so good you need to walk it off 🙂. I had the chicken Sunday dinner 😋 and my husband and daughter had other food from the menu, and there is plenty to choose from. We also asked if they could do a doggy dinner with a bit of bacon and a sausage for the dog and they were happy to, we were amazed when it came out 2 rashers and 3 sausages, to say our dog was happy was an understatement, there was that much we asked them to wrap it up and we took it for his treats on the walk. All I will say is you must visit here if you are in the area, either just out walking or on the canal on a boat, the staff are always friendly and the location is great and the pub is warm and welcoming, we will be back soon 🙂
We recently visited The 2 Boats with our family from a canal boat holiday. We visited in 2010 when our kids were much smaller and were so impressed we wanted to come back again in Oct 2023.
What a lovely place! The food was excellent, Emma the bar lady was so friendly and helpful and the pub has kept its pub like atmosphere which is rare now. Most of the other pubs we visited were boutique type places that looked like an Ikea restaurant.
A pub should look like a pub and we were not disappointed!
Please keep this pub the same- its a GEM!
thank you for a great experience!
Lovely food, I had prawn cocktail and chips as a meal. Good portions. Also chicken in a basket is value for money x
Lovely location. It is so peaceful, on the canal. Generous portion sizes. Friendly service. Pet friendly.
We stayed at a campsite along the canal from the Two Boats but the pub there didn't allow dogs so we went to the Two Boats instead and glad we did. We enjoyed a top notch gammon steak and chips (two eggs) alongside chicken strips with a very hearty salad. The bar was well stocked for all tastes and the ale was very well kept. Staff were beyond welcoming, just so friendly and accommodating. It had the feel of a really decent, no nonsense country pub. Couldn't recommend more.
Outstanding fish and chips, which so many places do indifferently it's really nice to see someone really putting some thought into it! Other dishes also prepared with care. Lovely location by the canal helps, as do a few nice localish cask ales.
Excellent quaint canalside pub, very impressed with meals we had & staff went above & beyond to ensure our food was ok & we were made to feel very welcome & even the dog wS treated to biscuits & was very fussed..definitely recommend
Just had the deliciousness which was the Steak and Stilton pie with lovely chips for lunch! Absolutely fabulous! I may go back for my tea! Friendly staff, nice canal side location. Recommended!
The family and I had a great night reliving past memories in this original style canal side pub.
The food was great, the staff fun and helpful.
Had a lunch baguette at The Two Boats Inn. What a beautiful pub in a lovely location on the canal. Very welcoming staff. Food was excellent. Great place to relax and enjoy the boats and people passing. Thumbs up!!!
