We needed to make an overnight stop in Long Melford and are really pleased we chose The Black Lion. We stayed in one of the "snug double" rooms which was just perfect for our needs. The room was well appointed and very clean, the large built in wardrobe helped to keep it tidy. Bathroom was excellent with very good shower facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the room temperature was spot on - not too hot. Our "Full Suffolk" breakfast in the morning was the perfect end to a very relaxing overnight stay. We will definitely come back next time we need to stay in the area.

Our 91 year old aunt picked the venue and we were all delighted with her choice. Beautiful village location, lovely upmarket decor, friendly and attentive service and delicious food and wine. We were there for lunch and didn’t leave until nearly 4pm and we felt no pressure to vacate. All in all I can highly recommend. Thank you.

Lovely place to eat, in beautiful Long Melford. Tastefully decorated and good service. Notoriously fussy partner said his starter was the best he'd ever had, so high praise indeed! Some nice little high end touches that takes it a notch up from gastropub. Extensive wine list, but did not have the one I requested, which was slightly disappointing, but the alternative was still delicious.
