Review White Bull At Alston - Longridge

A burger and a dessert turned into a lovely meal and 3 desserts to share between the two of us! A lovely open fire (there's 3 of them!) comfy sofa, made it difficult to get up and leave. Definitely a pub to revisit.

My hubby and I went there on Sunday 10th September for my birthday lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had a lovely roast beef dinner with all the trimmings and my hubby had the roast chicken. The meat was very tender, vegies lovely and crunchy and the service was great and people very friendly! We'll definitely be back there for Sunday roast again.

We popped in with our baby and daughter for lunch today and we were so glad we did. My daughter and I had the fish and chips which were so fresh and tasty, and my husband had the white bull burger with blacksticks blue which was delicious (and my baby enjoyed some chipolatas! ). The staff were very friendly and helpful. They immediately brought some colouring things for my daughter which kept her entertained whilst she waited for her food, along with the little fish tank that she was obsessed with. We will definitely be returning!

Went for evening meal on Sunday. Really nice choices on menu. I opted for the burger, which was really nice. My wife chose the small fish and chips, which was superb. For dessert one apple crumble (probably the best I've had) and sticky toffee pudding for my wife, which was amazing as well. Service was really good. We'll certainly go back based on this experience and would recommend to others.

Closure of the M6 sent us out of our way on a long trip. We were tired and hungry and stopped at this place as we drove past. The staff are excellent and friendly and the food we ordered was delicious, honest pub grub of high quality. We had a lovely Sunday dinner each. The beef was very good indeed and the Yorkshire puddings were the best I've had in a long while. Next time I'll come here on purpose!

Lovely pub, great food and friendly staff. Stopped off here on way to my daughters in Preston after a break away in Clitheroe. Look forward to a return visit soon. Thankyou ladies x

I had the White Bull burger, which is really nice, and I like the fact that the ingredients are locally sourced. There is an outdoor area to have your drink in the sun. Friendly staff and a nice chilled atmosphere 👌

Just had Sunday lunch, had the 2 course menu , excellent value for money at 19.99, food was hot, tasty and top quality, asked for beef as pink as possible and it certainly was, I asked if they could do cauliflower cheese as I just fancied it, chef was more than happy to do it. Staff so friendly and Gabby was such a good host. Definitely be back again as it’s on our door step.

Had a lovely time. Our waitress and bar tender Tory was amazing and we had a lovely time.

Only dropped in for a drink, no food, but what a great idea providing sun cream at the outdoor tables for customers. What a great idea.

The food was really tasty and a better quality than a lot of other pubs I've visited. Inexplicably quiet on a Friday evening considering how good it was. If you've got a big appetite, get a starter or a couple of other bits as well. Very good!

We held a private function but used the bar Staff were amazing

1st Visit and found a nice countryside pup and restaurant with good food (was at a function buffet) and friendly staff.

Highly recommend. Nothing was too much trouble and very accommodating for those with special dietary requirements. I was given a choice of 4 options for my meal choice (Vegan) and was also informed that if there was anything I found on the menu that could be adapted they would do that too. Truly enjoyed the gnocchi dish that was prepared, so fresh and tasty. One of the nicest meals I have eaten when out and about.

Came for a meal this evening (three people). The monkfish starter and the Pear and Walnut salad starter, alongside the gammon steak was all lovely. The gorgeous specials were a treat and the staff were extremely attentive and very friendly. What a treat for a Tuesday evening!

Stopped in the White Bull for a meal. Great staff very friendly and helpful. The meal was served promptly was a delight to eat. The beers where top notch. Would recommend the White Bull for a good place to take that special person. Credit to Alex for a well run place

We go to the White Bull as often as we can as we are never disappointed with the food! As we've been vegan 6 months, sometimes eating out can be a task in itself! You end up hashing together a load of side dishes that you never really want but have to have due to lack of choice. Not at the white bull! We booked a table last night at late notice and I always let them know our "awkward" dining requirements. Although there wasn't a suitable dish on the menu, Kelvin informed us that the new head chef had rustled us up an apricot cous cous with sweet potato tagine. It was THE tastiest meal we've had out in a long while! I wanted to order more to bring it home � we sure will be requesting it again! And we've let our equally "awkward" vegan mates know how accommodating and tasty the White Bull is. Might be worth introducing one dish on the menu that can be vegan or veggie just so other diners know they can be accommodated, as not everyone is brave enough to ask. The tagine could be spruced up for a veggie with feta cheese too! Bloody delish. Thanks to the new chef and the team for sorting us out without a fuss!

Been on more than one occasion and absolutely LOVE this place! Each and every time , the food has been outstanding (tasty, well presented and great choices!!). Staff have always been very helpful and courteous.......the whole experience is always a pleasure! White Bull has become one of our favourites!!!! Definitely recommend it! Xx

What a great place,me and the hubby took my mum and he's Aunty for lunch,I'd never been before and thought the atmosphere of the place and the food where very good and will go again.

Visited for a family lunch. All staff polite, friendly and very welcoming. We all chose different food options and all thoroughly enjoyed them, very delicious. I asked for a chicken salad which wasn't on the menu but I'd seen all the ingredients on the menu. This was positively received and was no problem. (I ordered this due to the lack of healthy/ low calorie options) The bill arrived and I was shocked at £12.95 for my salad, making mine the most expensive meal. I didn't comment to the staff as I wasn't paying the bill. It left me feeling a bit deflated after such a lovely experience.

Had a fantastic meal at the White bull on Saturday evening (16/9/16). Food delicious and staff very friendly. I had the seabass with linguini followed by sticky toffee pudding; food heaven. Would highly recommend.

We recently had my Dad's wake here and I couldn't be anymore grateful for the service we received. It's a gorgeous spacious venue, fantastic service from all staff and the food was delightful. A perfect place to come together and celebrate his life. Thank you �

Food was great. Rag pudding best I've ever had! Service excellent! However a tad mean with the scallops, for the price would like to of had 3 instead of 2. Other than that a perfect meal .

A friend recommended the White Bull to me a few months ago so when we saw a special deal on Travelzoo, we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. Great food and huge portions, not what you'd expect on a special deal. My husband had "probably the best soup" he'd ever had. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable too. A lovely place to eat. We will definitely be back!

beautiful food, staff fantastic, lovely ambient setting, wine spot on and could not fault a thing, clean, food was outstanding and locally sourced, and price was justified to the quality, not rushed, very relaxing, they should do very well indeed, deffo go back again.
