Tayah's

This cafe always looked nice from the outside but felt it needed an update when I got inside. Toasted tea cake was nice but hot choc was awful. Had the consistency of emulsion paint ! Offered me hot milk to thin it out but still very disappointed. Left it. Friend ordered bacon butty. Received sausage butty but when questioned the staff they insisted she said sausage which she clearly didn’t as I was there when she ordered. Why would she have questioned if that was the case. Not really impressed. Sorry. Thanks for your reply. I’ve amended to 4 stars because of your nice reply. Need to check the consistency of the hot choc with your staff. Sounds like they put treble the amount required so maybe more training. I know you must be doing things well as your cafe was very busy which is great. Just a few tweaks with a few things required. 😉

Excellent cafe, lovely staff. Ordered a chocolate milkshake and I wasn’t happy with it so I told the staff and they quickly offered me a new drink and told me they would take it off the bill. A little later another lady came over and explained to us that the milkshake was sugar free hence the taste and also asked if she could make us a new one. Staff are very attentive to customers.

A friendly local welcome from Tayah and her staff waits in this traditional coffee and cake shop - which also has a good wider ranging well priced menu. Fully accessible for people with limited abilities (via the side pavement and back door) and child friendly. On warmer days there’s a lovely secluded back yard with wisteria covered awnings and outdoor tables. Worth a visit.
