My husband and I had fish & chips and a couple of bottles of sugar free lemonade, the best fish and chips we had tasted in a very long time they were so π π.. not a morsel was left plenty of S/V on them too just as I asked.
Staff were very friendly, too, all environmentally friendly paper, and bag, we then went to eat them by the river, and really enjoyed π will definitely have them again next week of our holiday ππ...
Eat here twice during September 2022. Fantastic Fish and chips, cooked perfectly both times. We made the trip from our campsite near Fowey because we read these guys cook their fish and chips in beef dripping, which it turns out they did. Surprised by all the negative reviews. Service was fine, even when we quizzed them on cooking in beef dripping and the food was perfect both times. Would not hesitate to return. Price as you would expect portions plentiful.
Wow absolutely gorgeous fish and chips! Having read some of the reviews we were a little sceptical but how wrong were we proved! The food was great and the staff , all of them ..Were lovely! Really couldn't fault any of it and would definitely recommend to anyone πππ
Stayed in Lostwithiel this week and finally got round to trying the Chippy, it was absolutely wonderful. The staff were nice, the prices were good and the chips were lovely!!
I bought a Small Chips which was Β£2 and my partner got a Small Chips, Battered Sausage and a bottle of Coke for Β£5.
We think these were a lot nicer than our usual local back at home. Clean place, Hygiene 5 which is stated in the window, lots of service from the locals who queued with us and we then ate the chips on a picnic bench near the River Fowey. I had previously bought my own bread rolls from the Co-op from a picnic I was going to have but the Chip Shop does do a Chip Butty.
Fish and chips were delicious and plenty for the 3 of us. Quick service too and pleasant staff.
Don't usually write reviews, however the amount of poor reviews left here surprised Mr. Without exaggeration the country fryer is easily the best fish and chip I've eaten at. The batter is thin, crispy and not greasy whilst the chips are some of the best I've had. Would recommend to anyone.
The service may not always be the friendliest though that shouldn't matter given the speed and quality in which the food is cooked at.

Pretty decent fish and chips, chips has more flavour compared to my local fish and chips in London. The cod was very meaty and the batter wasn't too thick either. Mushy peas was very nice an the curry sauce is thick and punchy ~ overall thumbs up
I'm a Yorkshire girl, and home is a place where the fish is landed daily and hits the fryers by teatime so my standards are high. Country Fryer's fish n chips is without doubt the best I've had away from home. Fresh fish, light crispy batter and perfect chips. Tasty. And the service was friendly and helpful. Thanks ever so much!
