The Green Cottage

Just back from another few days in Louth with family. As ever, headed straight for Marie’s wonderful tea room. Lovely oat lattes in the morning followed later by an amazing afternoon tea. They really are good! We go vegan but there is the choice of non-vegan too. If you’re local to Louth or there on holiday, please give the independent businesses your custom and bypass the large chains. Use them or you’ll watch as your beautiful town loses all it’s charm and character.

On a recent cycle trip to Louth, on a very hot day, we needed refreshments and happened upon the 'Green Cottage Tea Room' in Vickers Lane, situated just off Northgate (look for the advertising board near the bike racks) - It was a great find. A cool relaxing space with an interesting menu. The hosts treated us to a complimentary drink of squash (can't guarantee this on any future visits :)) - I had the mushroom pate & cucumber sandwich which was tasty & light & C had goats cheese on bruschetta. The food was quality & presented perfectly, "Thank You". After refilling our water bottles we set off on the return cycle. Would definitely recommend.

A gorgeous little cafe, with a very nice menu which is both vegetarian and vegan. We've been a few times now and enjoyed it every time. The couple who run it are very friendly too. The best little cafe in Louth I'd say. Make sure you check the opening hours as I think they change with the different seasons and book ahead if you're travelling from further afield so you're not disappointed and definitely book ahead especially for the afternoon tea 😊

Absolutely beautiful little cafe for high quality vegan food. We visited today after seeing the seals at Donna Nook. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast menu and flapjacks! The owner was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Thanks for setting up such a lovely business. Looking forward to our next visit.
