An exceptional 'spoons in Lowestoft. Two levels of lovely dining areas with two bars. Standard spoons fayre and great staff as usual.

Pleasantly surprised by the food quality. Quick service and cheerful and polite staff. We ate before going to watch a show at The Marina and had plenty of time. Only negative was foul mouthed drunken natives, fortunately outside, a little off putting as you're about to enter as they're throwing chairs about and swearing and shouting at one another! Other than that, the staff and food made up for it. I has the Chicken Tikka Massala and Chips and it really was tasty!

Huge venue, very cheap beer and food, polite and helpful staff and well managed. The app works well too for ordering tonyoue table. Well presented with a bit of character. Toilets are upstairs (as well as copious additional seating) but there is a lift to get there as well as stairs. For what they are, they do it very well, so the removal of a star may seem a little bit unfair but I feel it is justified because nobody noticed the man on the table behind where I was sat emptying the contents of his stomach into a splattered puddle on the floor under the table. Credit to the staff, they responded pretty quickly when I informed them about it and seemed remarkably unphased by the situation, but the dude was stood there vomiting for about 5 minutes and nobody offered a bucket or assistance or even noticed.

I have been in Lowestoft in middle-March, during a research and study trip. The last day I was looking for something to eat and, in front of the train station, I found the Joseph Conrad! A large hall plenty of space, in very peaceful english atmosphere. Very good prices, particularly if compared to London, where I was coming from! The staff was very kind and friendly. I was in a hurry, so I just ordered a fast gammon ham, eggs and chips, and it was ready at a stunning speed! To drink, this time I ordered just a coke. I liked this place and I think I would like to try it again

Was able to get some food at 9pm on a Thursday evening when other places in the town had already stopped serving food much earlier. Although some dishes were out of stock (steaks), the festive menu was on, so I went with the chicken and stuffing burger. Pigs in blankets were unavailable, so I asked for a normal sausage instead which they were happy to provide.

Prices are very good for both food and drink. We ordered a rump steak and chips which was supposed to have a special steak seasoning and an ultimate burger. Unfortunately the special steak seasoning was just a pepper rub which was awful and the steak looked like it was plastic and well over cooked and it only came with one side. My ultimate burger was cold so not a very good start. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to sort the food out everything was replaced with new food and as my wife didn't like the pepper rub they changed her meal to a burger as well. Being honest I think other weatherspoons are better but the Joseph Conrad isn't bad for what you pay.

Wow. £1.99 for breakfast. 11am Saturday morning busy but food and drink still served at a reasonable time. The place was clean and the food was great, hot and fresh. One of the better wetherspoons I've been to.

Today, on a very rare visit to Lowestoft my wife and I decided to have lunch at this establishment. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala and I can only say that was the best curry that I have had outside a proper Indian restaurant. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. Well done to all concerned. Will use again.

I've been many times. 2 drinks for less than a fiver, 2 minutes from the beach. Shame it has a view of only the train station but the staff, service are great. There isn't really an atmosphere. The food is standard Wetherspoon grub. Mostly ready meals but breakfast, fish and chips and a few others are cooked fresh. Food arrives in the usual 10-15 mins. They are great with the app. Have outside seating. Very clean. I'll be back many times
