Been to the Blue Boar couple of times, always have had a good meal here. Good choice of quality meals. Plus a good children’s menu. My wife had the liver and bacon, really enjoyed and the mash was excellent. I had the inside out chicken Kiev, which was wonderful, excellent flavour. Daughter had the homemade chicken goujons and chips. Which were excellent. Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive to the needs of their customers. Also book as they’re very busy. One of our favourite places.

We stopped for the lunch, very welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble. The food was delicious too. I loved the boar wallpapers and boar light shade over the bar! Sitting outside available, the pub has a big parking right next to the building. I have a suggestion, and I apologise if its there and I haven't seen it, but maybe a playground for children - in future? Also maybe some activities and crayons? Anyway, we had a wonderful experience

Booked a table on line last week and had a quick response with confirmation the next day. Went last night and it was absolutely excellent. Ordered Steak and kidney pudding, liver and bacon, chicken curry and chicken ham and leek pie. Ordered arrived quickly and was absolutely lovely. Sweets afterwards where just as good. Abbie looked after us extremely well she was welcoming attentive and genuinely helpful we all warmed to her straight away. We came away after having a lovely evening and look forward to going back. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Nice quaint pub in Oulton. The menu has a good selection of food (perhaps too much choice) and all reasonably priced. I had the 10oz rump which was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. It was tender and flavoursome. My wife had the chicken enchiladas and again it was very tasty. Perhaps a bit too much sauce and not enough chicken, but she still almost finished the lot. For dessert we shared a cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce. Nothing spectacular but it hit the sweet spot. Staff were professional and polite but it did take a while to collect the finished plates and the place wasn't busy. These are nick picking but did stop the Blue Boar from getting the full 5 stars. Will certainly recommend to anyone wanting a nice meal in a nice environment

Staff very welcoming, tables and general clean, food fine generous portions, how people eat starters, mains and a desert is beyond our understanding Nice visit and overall all happy. Prices are agreeable as is the menu options Suggestion, Introduce a home Home Made steak and ale pie on the menu with lots of onion gravy

Enjoyed the blue boar a lovely pleasant place to have a nice meal. We had a large party of friends and family do a surprise 70th birthday for our brother. The staff were excellent and attentive to our needs nothing was too much trouble always asking if we were happy if our food was alright and if we needed more drinks ordered so we didn't have to worry about a thing. The staff were Great. The food was lovely even tho it was a very busy night again the staff were marvellous and very helpful to our needs, when our food arrived everyone was very happy with the service as well as good tasty food. Everyone had a main and some had desserts at the end. A very nice menu with a good choice of food as well as a good menu for children and vegetarians . There was a good carpark plenty of space at the back of the pub.

Fabulous food, freshly prepared with great service. Good selection of food and drinks. Service is very friendly and helpful . Places like this are hard to find and should be supported so we don't loose them for good.

The best place to eat in Lowestoft by a country mile. They have a great menu with probably the widest and tastiest vegetarian selection in the county. The staff are all welcoming and helpful, the service is great and all the meals are freshly cooked to perfection. Once you've eaten there you won't want to go anywhere else.
