We had a highly enjoyable stay at The Hog! The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The decor around the hotel and in the rooms is lovely and modern and our room was a great size with all the amenities you could need including a Nespresso coffee machine and fresh milk in the mini fridge. The real highlight was a fabulous dinner we had in the restaurant, both the chicken and gnocchi dishes could not have been better and reasonable value too.

Went there with family for a celebratory lunch on a Sunday. Menu was innovative and interesting. The food was fantastic, a unique blend and use of seasoning and cooking skills really brought the meal to life. It was delicious - we really enjoyed it. Young waiting staff and whilst largely they were first class they must understand what the resteraunt has to offer. The waiter that served us had no idea about what drinks were available 'on tap'. Whilst minor, it is just a reminder to the venue, detail matters. But overall first rate experience.

I have had the pleasure of staying at The Hog having come across it online. I had heard about a major renovation after it had been bought by new owners and was unsure what to expect. Upon arrival I was greeted with warmth and welcome from the Reception team and shown to my room. My room was immaculate, well presented and exceeded my expectations. I was able to settle into my room and rested well that night. The following morning I made my way to the restaurant for breakfast and was delighted by the friendliness of the staff and presentation of the restaurant space, not to mention the delicious breakfast that had been prepared for me. I only originally booked a single night, but having met the owners, and explained that I would have liked to stay longer, they were able to ensure my room was available for a consecutive night, which was unexpected and very kind. The hotel is a delight, fairly priced, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone considering booking a stay; you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I have just spent a few days staying at The Hog Hotel. From the reception we received on arrival, to the beautifully appointed bedroom and the wonderful food in the restaurant, we congratulate you all. Everyone was most considerate and helpful and special mention to the chef who coped well with food intolerance issues. No hesitation in staying again or recommending the hotel to anyone. 3 days of autumn sunshine a bonus! Thank you.

An excellent, very warm and friendly welcome. We were shown to our room, which was very well decorated and had everything you needed. Fresh milk in the fridge! We had a cocktail before dinner. Food was excellent and very well presented. Breakfast in the conservatory was lovely!

Just popped in for Sunday lunch with a couple of visitors. from down south, having only recently learned they have a publicly open restaurant. All three of us super impressed with all 3 courses, especially when you have starters and mains and desserts come free. I wasn't expecting too much if I'm honest having been suggested local eateries when I first moved to Kessingland, to find myself thoroughly disappointed. NOT the case here. The food was presented well, tasted excellent with all courses having a wonderful richness to them. So good was the food, equally matched by its' young, but professionally attentive staff, (a lot of places locally could learn from them I think), I had already decided that I'd be returning for a dinner menu quite soon before our meal was completed. Also good to hear that menus are seasonal, therefore changing every few months, making the most of seasonal veg and food availability. Definitely worth a visit for lunch, dinner or an occasional drink. I assume the bar can be available to non residents ? Definitely returning soon for an evening meal and very much looking forward to it. A pleasure dining here. Very impressed.

So impressed with this hotel and the food was simply incredible and staff all so genuinely lovely. Our room was super clean and really new and modern and beds really comfortable. Would certainly recommend and will stay again. A friend and I went to Pakefield riding school near by and had a fantastic ride on the beach.

We were at first disappointed that Cathy and Reece are no longer with the hotel, however John and Agata are just as kind and really cannot do enough for their guests, nothing is too much trouble for them! Again, the food was sublime. The chef, Terry and his team, are extremely talented and the choices for breakfast and dinner both imaginative and delicious. Vegetarians and vegans are well catered for. I'm not either, but have never seen a choice of hot vegan breakfasts on a hotel menu before. The rooms are beautifully equipped, with an attention to detail which is rare. Reusable bottles of still and sparkling water provided in the fridge, a choice of good quality tea and coffee, a glass bottle of real milk too. Even the lovely toiletries are vegan friendly and in refillable containers. No single use plastic in sight. Every member of staff was both friendly and professional, it was lovely that many of them remembered us! This hotel is a true gem and we look forward to returning. (Especially for the fabulous Lowestoft kippers!)

The food was so good. There was obviously a lot of care and attention went into it and the vegetarian choices were very well thought about. I found the portion of risotto to be a bit too big for me but I was only disappointed I couldn't finish it. The goats cheese gnocchi was amazing. The room was lovely. We were upgraded to the Pakefield Suite which was big, with a bath in the room and 2 TVs. We found the walls were a bit thin, especially when the staff were busy and could here the chef doing his orders (it was nice to know everything was fresh!). I was disappointed by the number of artificial plants for a hotel that advertises itself as being nature friendly. I also thought they could use some more environmentally friendly tissues and toilet roll. All in all though it was a lovely weekend away and the staff were friendly and keen to share their knowledge of the area.

Host was welcoming & friendly but did not explain what time or where breakfast took place in the morning. Our room was clean and facilities in the room were well presented. The room was quite warm at night. As the room was next to the car park I wasn't comfortable opening the window. The food was wonderful but the service was slow during our evening meal (Valentines evening) but the manger recognised there was room for improvement. The breakfast was delicious (vegan breakfast) I would stay at this hotel again.
