I was delighted by the generous portion size at Suffolk's highest voted fish and chip shop. My photo couldn't quite capture the true size of the portion but the lunchtime special offer was more than enough for me. The quality also excels, but is it truly the best? Having tasted the fish and chips at Pablos, the Village Fryer, and the one on Gresham ave as well as other strong contenders, I really cant tell you, but I do know you will enjoy them.
Huge portions of fish and chips (thankfully we didn’t order the large and just one chips between 2 of us - photo shows a quarter of the chips and half a medium haddock). Hadn’t pre-orderef? but served quickly, even though the place was packed. Pleasant and attentive staff. Only issue was how hot it was in the waiting area on a summer’s evening, with fryers on the go and so many people inside.
Exceptional fish and chips in the area, award winning and worthy. Lovely staff top class food, fair price and great portion size. This is my go to place always

Oulton Road fish and chips totally excelled and I cannot recommend them enough.
Customer service was exceptional from start to finish. The staff are very friendly yet professional. Truly a pleasurable experience which continued to the table.
Cod cooked to perfection, large flakes with perfect batter. Batter was the perfect amount without excess.
Chips made with new potatoes and absolutely delicious.
Mushy peas perfect not watery or dried out.
Fried chicken lovely and tasty. Crispy skin with juicy chicken.
Mars bars are also available and like everything else here perfect.
Will be returning for certain on our next visit.

Always amazing fish and chips and our children do love your jumbo battered sausages! Always cooked fresh, 10/10 every time. Really friendly bunch of staff too ☺️

Fantastic fish and chips, best ever, the place is really popular and that's possibly the problem. Last two times I've been I've waited over 45 minutes from ordering to coming out. Waiting that long you stand watching other people coming in, ordering and walking out long before you. But a small few of us stand there forever it seems. It's quite irritating watching many people seemingly jump ahead of you in the queue. Internet or phone orders I can understand being ready shortly after the customer comes in but walk-ins, no? So they need to get to grips more with fair waiting times for all. I've noticed people they seem to know and are on first name terms with are served very quickly. Otherwise the staff seem to be drowning in orders, not knowing which to do next, so perhaps they need a better system. Present one perhaps works to a certain level then seems to fall apart when they get too busy. However I can't criticise the staff at all. They all work really hard and are polite and friendly. I'm just put off going again because I haven't had a fair service. It's not like my order is ever large or complicated. Large cod, medium chips, small mushy peas. Maybe Kebab or Chinese next time.
We were struggling to find a chip shop still open and come out our way to this one while on holiday. Hands down the best chippy we've ever had. And the service was amazing, had a lovely chat with the staff. When they realised we had 2 girls in the car they gave us a couple of freebies which was so kind. Will definitely visit when in the area
Wife ordered for collection on the way home , arrived and shop was rammed people in and out constantly. Food was piping hot and cooked brilliantly. Batter was golden and crispy and light. Son was gobsmacked by the chicken strips and chips saying better than KFC. Great portion sizes and 10% off of collected . My go to chippy now. staff very friendly and enthusiastic also.
Under the previous owners I stopped going here as the batter was stodgy. This now is the best cooked fish I have had. Amazing taste, great portions, friendly people. Top notch!
I’ve reviewed this chippy before but I’m going to do it again, hands down the best chippy in Lowestoft/anywhere i’ve been. The service 10/10, so friendly. The young woman gave me and my boyfriend free chicken and a free drink on the house which is a special touch. The gravy is hands down the best gravy i’ve tasted and has so much flavour. Chips are always lovely as were the sausage and the steak pie!!
