Traditional pub food with a twist. Good portions, high quality. Nice selection of ales. Attentive and friendly service. One thing I found unnecessary - and somewhat disturbing - was the taking down of all our contact details before we were seated. Strange.

Came here after a trip to Pennington Flash, when we needed to find a casual dog-friendly place to eat. Made a booking easily online, and was impressed that a member of staff called to confirm that we would be okay to sit outside in one of their pods with a heater. Plenty of parking available here and the garden is presented nicely. We enjoyed our food a lot, and the service was very efficient and friendly. The grilled chicken burger, and the chicken and mushroom pie were delicious. The lemon tart was also really lovely. This is a very dog-friendly place, with dog treats on the counter. They do allow dogs inside, but when it's busy in the pub, it's better for them to be outside. There are patio heaters available if it's cold. I'd highly recommend this pub for a comfy, casual place to eat good food with pleasant staff and a nice atmosphere. The only suggestion I might make is to ask that patrons who are vaping don't do so around people who are eating. I realise this is a fairly new problem that pubs have to deal with, and it only negatively affected me for a brief period of time, so it doesn't impact my review at all. I will definitely come back.

Food was lovely, staff are very smart and polite, and quick. Table was nice and clean and even better near the kitchen entrance so got the Gorgeous smells of food cooking in a very calm kitchen.. Atmosphere was just right for a nice Sunday Dinner with light music in the background.. And the Sticky Toffee Pudding was Gorgeous.. We can't complain about anything. The Wife might as it is our 18th Wedding Anniversary today🤣🤣🤣. A Great choice of Pubs to visit..

Had a meal here on Saturday with elderly parents. On arrival I discovered that I'd booked the wrong restaurant in error. Emma was lovely and managed to fit us in although they were extremely busy. Staff are all lovely. Food and service spot on. Lovely place to eat and reasonably priced too. Definitely will book again but Queen Anne this time ha ha!"

Had a drop lunch last Sunday and really enjoyed everything so decided to go again today to see if it was a one off. The young lady at the front of house greeted us and recognised us from the previous week which was really nice. We sat in the outside seating area which is very tastefully done with fresh herb plants on each table giving off a lovely aroma. We ordered drinks from the table which were delivered by friendly waiters and waitresses in good time for us to peruse the menu and order when they arrived back. We both had a starter and the two Sunday lunch options. The starters were lovely (fish cake and the pate) and they tasted as good as they were presented. Shortly after two wonderful Sunday lunches arrived and a cauliflower cheese to die for. Veg cooked to perfection and the ham was very tasty and seasoned enough. Only thing that upset me over the lunch was the fact I’d found someone who does better Yorkshire puds than me! I went to pay the bill at the bar and was greeted by the member of staff who was equally as polite and courteous as the lady at front of house. Two professional pieces of service deserved a review. To cap it off I had left a £20 bottle of suncream on our table and was caught before I left . Fabulous food and atmosphere a great place to visit if out for a walk or bike ride with a good sized garden with sun shade if required. Only thing I’d genuinely say to improve would be to give the waiting staff a nicer top as they look like they should be watering plants in a garden centre (sorry if that’s harsh) but a massive thumbs up to the chef, staff and lady at front of house

We’ve been wanting to eat here for a while and it’s always fully booked and now I appreciate why! From the moment we walked through the door the staff were warm, welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. They catered to my dairy free kids no problem, making a few tweaks to the existing menu. The best Sunday roast around here by a long shot. The portions are generous (so my dog also enjoyed takeaway too!) and the food is quality. All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed each of our courses. We’ll definitely be back, give it a go, you won’t regret it!

Great spot for a meal. The staff are always really welcoming and attentive. The food is spot on and the prices are really reasonable for what you get. Couldn't praise the cheesecake enough if you get a chance to have it before it's out of stock. 16/08 - big mention to Lewis who was our waiter. He was attentive and really friendly, he definitely added to our experience.

We have just had my daughter's wedding reception at the Travellers Rest and what a fantastic job they did. The owners are very friendly and put a lovely menu together for our special day. The Travellers Rest is a gorgeous pub and restaurant, the room we used was ideal for our function of 40 people. What is also nice is the outside area, a nice setting to sit and relax. A great venue, the staff are professional and friendly, would highly recommend. Andrew
