Came here after a trip to Pennington Flash, when we needed to find a casual dog-friendly place to eat. Made a booking easily online, and was impressed that a member of staff called to confirm that we would be okay to sit outside in one of their pods with a heater.

Traditional pub food with a twist. Good portions, high quality. Nice selection of ales. Attentive and friendly service. One thing I found unnecessary - and somewhat disturbing - was the taking down of all our contact details before we were seated. Strange.

We have just had my daughter's wedding reception at the Travellers Rest and what a fantastic job they did.
The owners are very friendly and put a lovely menu together for our special day. The Travellers Rest is a gorgeous pub and restaurant, the room we used was ideal for our function of 40 people.
