Went midweek for an impromptu evening meal. There is a decent size car park with a short walk to the bar entrance. Lovely sized bar area with a couple of wood burners which had been lit and gave the pub a real warm and cosy feel. Friendly staff greet you at the bar. The menu is extensive enough; filled with pub classics, vegetarian options and light bites for lunch. Guest Brewers provide a break from the norm. Food is freshly cooked to order and arrived piping hot and delicious. Well worth a return visit and will recommend to everyone.

“Very Welcoming Traditional Country Pub”
5 of 5 stars
Visited here on Thursday for a friends Birthday drink, they done a lovely buffet so vowed to return with my family which we did tonight. Nice friendly welcome, a great chill out for a couple of hours and excellent food. We had the 3 courses all the dishes were presented well, the food itself was full of flavour and served very professionally, pub grub at it's best. You get what you pay for so all round it deserves an excellent review from us. We eat out most weekends and this will be added to our list of favourite places to eat (& drink) No reservations in recommending to family & friends :-)

In the midst of beautiful countryside this is a
great traditional pub with friendly staff that serve delicious lunch snacks and evening meals at reasonable prices. Range of beers, including 3 real ales, as well as wines and spirits. Great super efficient friendly manager. Locals are very affable and helpful.

Had a lovely evening meal. Food and drink was reasonably priced. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas. Good sized children's play area for families.. friendly, approachable staff.
This is a fantastic pub in the Kent countryside surrounded by farms and vineyards. Perfect place to end a nice walk with a cold pint or two in the summer or by the roaring fire in the winter. The Golden Lion has a great selection of reasonably priced drinks, a tasty menu including a Sunday roast and the most welcoming publicans you could ever meet. Don't be surprised if you're greeted with a big cuddle from both of them on your second visit! This place has the feel of a 'proper pub'. Its so dog friendly, your pooch can expect to be welcomed by their own doggy publican 'Jasper' who pours the pawfect pint. Can't recommend highly enough.
Fab, clean pub, good food. Lovely service from the lady behind the bar. Climbing frame for children. Big garden. Definitely go back
Beautiful place with really attentive people serving you , food was homely and yummy
Cycling club meet here 1st Thursday of the month
Great welcome by staff
Nice beer
Absolutely charming. This warm pub is definitely out in the sticks but that's why it's charming. A huge carpark, so no excuse there then. A good array of lagers and ales. Wines and spirits too. Food is quite lovely. Not pretentious either. It's quite normal, which I like. Nikki and Olivia looked after us and kindly provided us with a few baskets of chicken nuggets and chips.
Went for Sunday Lunch. Traditional selection including veggie. Food well cooked and very tasty. Would recommend.
Just be aware that this is a dog friendly pub
