I’ve been a regular here since birth. This gem refuses to change its original classic atmosphere and spectacular Italian food. This is my favorite restaurant in the world - period. The pastas are all superb, the steak is great and their shrimp and biscuit with hot sauce is out of this world! Their hot tomato sauce is divine. I’ve had everything on the menu except the lobster tail the clam dishes but can attest that everything on the menu is amazing. The artichoke oreganata is excellent, nice wine menu, and amazing deserts. The servers are old school and will bend over backwards to make your experience the best. They take all COVID precautions. Can’t wait for the next opportunity I have to eat here again! Cheers!

Not that impressed. Husband who is Italian, liked the meatballs, and it's sauce was good too. Place got a lot of hype from our friends. I assumed it would be fresh, home-cooking, authentic. The signature shrimp and biscuits was totally blah. I was expecting shrimp in little biscuits meanwhile there was like a largish chunk of dried bread/toast. Couldn't really figure it out. I was really excited about the anchovies and pimento appetizer, assuming it would be fresh fish. But all they did was open a $1.99 can of fillets. Service was good. Over-priced.

Rude owner. Loyal customers equals bad business. As a long standing establishment I would expect more customer appreciation and customer service. A sour owner and sour attitude toward your customers making them feel like they are doing you a favor is unsettling and makes me never want to come back.

So this may be the second review I’ve left this place and if it is it’s well deserved. The customer service is impeccable. I’ve been trying to steal the spicy sauce and managawt sauce for 5 years. I can’t understand how it’s done. It’s incredible. There’s nothing like it from Italy to anywhere in NY or Jersey and don’t tell my grandma but it’s not even close. Well maybe close but mannn if I find out how they make this sauce I’m a hero FOREVEA in my family. The rigatoni with ricotta, the managawt, and the spicy shrimp with biscuit spicy you will never go anywhere else ever. If you do you hate the taste buds of a grub. 😁

Unfortunately, I had my sister call to make a reservation of 9 people. My family and I arrive, my sister speaks to the hostess. Unbelievably, they didn’t want to seat us in because apparently we’re dark skin and I guess some Italians in this country don’t know what real Italians look like nor speak the language lol. In conclusion, this restaurant doesn’t respect other races and makes me want to press a lawsuit for discrimination.

It was our first time here and we were not disappointed. We had clams oreganata, stuffed artichokes, shrimp scampi and the best tiramasu around! Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.

Rude hostess creates bad vibes. Stop focusing on the seating chart and how many people you can squeeze into the place and be warm and welcoming instead of completely rude. She should be in the back chopping onions.
