Lovely food, we only had a cheese sandwich but a friend of mine goes regularly and says the food is delicious. Decor clean and fresh, atmosphere at lunchtime is casual and comfy. Will be going again.

Hubby had an amazing home made venison pie, and fabulous chunky chips. I had a very moreish Queenie Scallop cheesy dish accompanied by lovely crispy yummy fries & salad with a rather tasty zingy dressing. I finished off with rhubarb tart, sorbet and clotted cream. It was all delicious, wholesome, rustic food - properly cheffed and very flavoursome. Lovely people too. Wish it were closer to home.

Stumbled across this pub after a visit to the nearby Treacle Markets and we will be definitely going again. Despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime and lack of reservation the staff were pleasant and managed to find us a table by the log fire. The roast lamb was cooked to perfection with accompanying sides to compliment including a fantastic homemade mint sauce. Overall one of the finest Sunday lunches I've eaten!

Went here today for a light lunch and drink. We had the kids fish and chips which was just perfect, very fresh and the batter was just right. Wheelchair accessible, dog and child friendly. Selection of drinks looked good. Place was clean. Beer garden to the back. Staff friendly. Parking wasnt a problem at the time we went Friday 2pm but may struggle in busier times. Would like to come back and try something else from their main menu.

We had lunch on a Wednesday in June. It was quite quiet and we were made very welcome. The 'proper' food was a delight. We had the Wood Pigeon starter followed by the Lamb Curry Pie and BBQ Cod Loin with chorizo and haricot beans... delicious! It is a really interesting menu, all the food was beautifully presented and it felt as though it had been lovingly prepared. The passionfruit and kiwi take on Eton Mess was a perfect finale. We will definitely be visiting again. Loved it, and the dog did too :)

We stumbled across this pub after a long (and very wet!) walk. We were instantly welcomed and got the best spot next to the open fire. We had a couple of drinks and loved it so much that we booked a table for dinner. The food was superb and the landlord was so friendly. We shall definitely be making a trip back to visit this wonderful place!

Great, local dining pub. Very relaxed atmosphere and lovely food. Roaring fire in the winter, light and airy in the summer. The gamekeeper is very Dog friendly which adds to the relaxed atmosphere. The pub focuses on local seasonal game, but there are also vegetarian options. This place is the perfect way to round off a lovely Sunday walk!

Excellent food and very good value too. We stopped off with our dog in tow, who was also made most welcome. I had the Venison burger which was delicious. My wife had steak which was excellent too.

High quality, local food at very reasonable prices. Excellent service. The roast beef and pork were lovely and the mustard leeks and red cabbage were delicious. The cheese board was satisfying and their own fruit bread with it was tangy. The local ice creams were novel and flavoursome. The decor could be a little cosier but then it is walker and dog friendly. All in all, a new favourite for me.
