I thought surf and turf was a big lump of steak? Battered fish served with chips, peas, grilled tomato and mushrooms. How wrong I was; introducing Embankment Bar & Restaurant. A food sensation on a big barge in central Maidstone.
When you arrive take a look at the surf and turf options immediately. The default meat and seafood combinations have been selected for a reason, they work. They are delivered with garnishes, sauces and vegetables that beautifully compliment each other.
The dining experience is clean, bright and somewhat intimate given its humble size.
The staff are bubbly, chatty and polite. Prices are commensurate to quality and food here is of high quality.
Please go out your way, pop to the riverside and try the best surf and turf in the country.
Good food, live music and nice staff, and I enjoyed the novelty of being on a boat! It was completely empty other than my group though, they need more customers!!
Superb setting for a great evening. Delicious food, steaks cooked perfectly for everyone and very well presented. The cocktails are a must! Friendly and efficient staff giving excellent service. Highly recommended. We'll certainly be going again soon.

Such a great atmosphere when walking into the restaurant, lovely outside seating area to watch the boats drive by. Listening to the reggae singer was also lovely.
All staff very friendly, even though our waitress did muck up our meals but that was ok.
Gave 4 stars as the bathroom taps didn’t work but that was the only negative.

Went here for my 27th birthday it wasn't busy but that isn't a problem and we were served by the loveliest lady who was very attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Would come here again. Thank you!
Well what can I say apart from Amazing. The customer service was great & very attentive & nothing is too much trouble . food was delicious & steak was to die for & highly recommend going for the sauce that goes with it I had the peppercorn & brandy. can't wait for our next meal there.
Service was really good, food was surprisingly good.
Music was lively with a live singer later in the evening. I would imagine it would be a really nice setting on a summer's evening.
Decor was ok (could maybe do with a little bit of maintenance if I was being harsh) and the toilet was a bit small but these are really minor points.
Best food it town great atmosphere treated me,wife and friends with total respect couldn't ask for anything more staff was fantastic looked after my needs as it was my wife's birthday, wife said it was the best birthday she's ever had going back very soon. Keep up the good work guys I'm thinking of buying shares in this restaurant place is a gold mine.
Lovely place for dinner. Food was good and service very friendly.
We had a reservation for 18.30 and it was empty, so we literally had the boat for ourselves.
People usually arrive after 8pm.

We had my Grandsons Birthday Meal here last night. Me & Hubs had the Seabass it was so Scrummy, Daughter had Lamb 👍Boyfriend had Chicken 👍Grandson had Ribs👍Food was Spot on Staff where Great really friendly & Fab Service. And the Entertainment was Wicked all of us Thoroughly enjoyed our Evening 👍
