I haven't eaten here but a great place to pop in for a pint or whatever tickles your fancy. A lot of punters enjoy sitting outside people watching. I thought £4 for a pint was very reasonable. A nice change from the obvious chain pubs. Has been recently spruced up with a lick of paint on the front
Amazing night, we scoffed down 3 courses each, the menu was great for both of us (one meat eater one vegan) excellent variety for both of us and the atmosphere was great!

Great food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Good selection of meals for meat eaters and vegans alike. I'll definitely be eating there again.
On a side note: The Stag was recently taken over by new management and have a new head chef, and I can say the quality all round has improved drastically
A lovely place to eat or chill out with a drink by the fire. The staff are all lovely and have time to talk to you if you want to. The menu has a nice mix. It's also nice to see a choice of vegetarian dishes.
This pub is fantastic. The interior is really relaxed and has a cosy feel to it with a lovely roaring fire. The Food was truly amazing (I am a vegan and it was by far the best vegan meal I have ever had). It was our 1st visit but certainly wont be our last.
Great that you have a vegan menu (hard to come by in the area), and the food is really tasty, and the service good.
One request - as not all beer, wines and spirits are suitable for vegans, it would be great if you could extend that support by providing a list/menu of alcohol that are suitable....in
Previously known as the Sun but under new management for the last six months and what a breath of fresh air it is. Lovely old building, excellent real ale, open fire and live music on a Sunday afternoon. Not aimed at the younger crowd. Proper cozy old fashioned pub.
From a VEGAN's perspective; ok this is a lovely old down to earth pub that has a fantastic Vegan menu with loads of choice! Who cares if the pub's a little rough around the edges. The food was great all be it a little pricey for the main meals for what you get but if you're a Gourmet Society member

They serve some really nice beers and lagers, Good range of sprits, and coffees but no decafe
The Sunday roas is worth a try. Nice size portions just enough. You’ll easily clear your plate.
