Great way to spend 30-45 minutes while exploring Maidstone. It’s free entry and gives a quick and interesting background of Maidstone’s history. Plenty of art, bones, and Roman-era bits and pieces. If anything, you should visit just to see the most hilariously bad taxidermy I’ve ever seen in a museum. I’m sure the donors meant well, but some of the animals look absolutely deranged. Made my afternoon.

Amazing museum when you consider the range of artifacts and the fact it's completely free to enter! Not just the history of Maidstone but wider items of interest. Came here with two young children who do not normally attend museums. They were really fascinated and enjoyed the wide variety of things to see and do. Great job by the staff and curators.

If you love ancient and greek history then this museum is the one to visit. You receive a great welcome by all the front staff with beautiful souvenirs for all ages. There are actual items as displayed and somebare models. The stories behind each artefact were amazing. If you are to go to each room and read every detailed description it may take you a couple hours. Children would be a great addition to your visit but ensure that they listen to you at all times as some items are not to be touched. You won't want to have them destroying history in less than an hour. Besides that, plan your trip and enjoy the tour of the museum. PS: Face mask is mandatory at this time.

Our family had a great time yesterday at the Maidstone museum. Entrance it's free and there was a charge of 10£ for the special Star Wars Toys exhebition, which was great and entertaining for children aged 5-12. I would definitely recommend this place for a family day out.

For a local town museum it is brilliant. A few hours worth of stuff to see, including an actual mummified body. Lots of local history even going back as far as the dinosaurs. Completely free, however if there are exhibitions on you may have to pay for these. Still pretty cheap. Best to go mid afternoon to avoid school trips. Not too busy either so I didn't feel pressured to move on like at a big London museum.

Maidsone Museum is a fascinating place to visit. It is right in the centre of Maidstone so very easy to get to. They have various activities throughout the year for children and adults. The restaurant is brilliant with all sorts of snacks a dishes and delicious cake. In the summertime it is very pleasant to sit out in the courtyard watching the world go by.

Very nice museum with lots of interesting artefacts. Not very buggy friendly considering the different levels, although can still get to most places! But great place with lots of antiques and historic artefacts - considering the entry is free!
