Village Pub with tasty home cooked food and decent portion sizes. Beavertown neck oil on draft. Decent Sunday roasts. My favourite desert has got to be the brownie or sticky toffee pudding!! The landlords Claire and John are lovely
We visited on Saturday lunch for a family meal. The staff and the new landlord were friendly and welcoming. All five of us chose a different meal from the menu, which were delicious. The food was plentiful, hot, nicely presented & pleasantly served.
A very enjoyable afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere.
Would definitely recommend Prince of Wales for a meal.
We have thoroughly enjoyed returning to The Prince of Wales, Great Totham. The warm friendly atmosphere and delicious food is worth the drive from Scotland each time! Well done John & Clare!
Really lovely pub, the home cooked food is amazing and the new staff are lovely, very attentive! This is now our local pub and we will definitely be back!
Large pub, laid back landlady & landlord. Always warm. Superb food at affordable prices which is usually still obtainable at 8 pm incl Sundays. Cheaper prices at lunchtime if required for over 55's Tues, Weds, Thurs lunch. Lower than average prices. Usually pretty busy for eating as it is so good. Small outside area but very big and open inside. This is an excellent and friendly place. Highly recommended.
Lovely village pub. Best in Great Totham. Lovely manager, staff. Great food and ambience.
Lovely welcoming pub, great service and amazing food. Had the over 55's portion which was ideal for lunch.
Lovely atmosphere . Staff very welcoming and nice . Beer fantastic . Food absolutely delicious : extremely well cooked and very good size portions for the price . Just found my new place to have a Sunday roast AAA
What a turnaround! Had a wonderful post-Christmas Sunday roast here with all the family. Lovely experience.
We used to avoid the Prince under previous management, they were nice enough people but the food wasn't great and the interior had gotten a little shabby. Now looks very clean, cosy and well cared for, with comfy seats and plenty of space so you're not sitting on top of other diners. The food is great, with everything you'd expect from a quality homemade roast, including a particularly good cauliflower cheese and perfectly cooked meat. I had lamb (decent cuts, not overly fatty) and my wife had chicken, with compliments all round. They even gave us a decent jug of very tasty extra gravy, which always goes down well with our lot.
The service was good and reasonably quick, we were served by warm and smiley staff who were very welcoming and certainly kept our drinks topped up! I felt I had to knock off a star as two of our dinners were missing roast spuds and the dining area where we sat was a bit too cold for comfort when we arrived, to the point where we had to leave the kids jumpers on... however the staff resolved the spuds issue pretty much immediately and in fairness we did get there right at the start of the lunch rush whilst the place was still warming up.
Other than those two small bits of feedback I'd give full credit to the new management and staff for levelling up what is now a lovely local. We will definitely be going back.
Out for a family meal. Excellent choice of food and good value. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
We will be returning.
