Excellent roast! And I mean 1st class! 7 of us were seated and served within 10 minutes notice that we were coming! Very good service, polite staff. We were all really pleased with our meals especially the cauliflower cheese and tasty gravy. Will return for sure! Geoff Grove

Brought visitors from Scotland. We ate outside in the sunshine, with umbrellas for shade. Excellent choice of fish on the menu. All four meals were excellent, cooked beautifully and were thoroughly enjoyed. Good wine choice, by the glass and excellent cold beers. Will be back!!

Lovely pub, but rooms need a bit of attention and updating. Where the pub is situated is spot on looking out onto the boats, really nice waking up with that view.

Visited this pub at the weekend, nice wine, and friendly staff, especially the manager lady. The only thing I didn't like was the seats, but apart from that all good. Mr Boston lol.

Came here for a quick drink as we passed and quite happy with it. Small peaceful place by the water which is great on a nice evening. We only had a drink so can't say much about the food. But the service was great, staff seemed nice and friendly and the place was very clean. Lovely chilled atmosphere too so would recommend to anyone.

Nice position for a traditional pub next to the dock. Slightly up from the waters edge, it gives you good views from the big windows in the bar. Our food was good, kids pasta and garlic bread was a decent size and well made. In such a fish themed place I thought the scampi could have been a bit less uniform and generic. Chips were underdone, but the Tartar sauce was excellent. The pizza was tasty and looked handmade, really nice pepper sauce on it. Beer choice was limited to two ales, one of them was past it's best. We visited on a Sunday afternoon. Read outside multiple posters advertising Sunday Roast, the main and kids menu listed a Sunday Roast, so we tried to order two Sunday roasts. They "don't serve Sunday roasts in the summer", even though it's May! Maybe time to take down all the posters then.

It should be noted it is no longer known as the Jolly Sailor, it is now called " FISH ON THE QUAY" .Notwithstanding that qualification: We stopped at the Jolly Sailor for an impromptu lunch, finding it only because it was opposite the quayside which is home to some lovely old Thames Barges. The Jolly Sailor offers what I would call the type of menu which can be found in various local hostelries although it did offer an interesting meal or two, including lobster Our food was freshly cooked and quite acceptable, albeit our order was taken and served by a nice young lady who obviously was new to the premises - her lack of experience caused only a couple of minor hiatuses. We were fortunate in that one of the few tables offering a reasonable view of the barges, the sole reason we were in that area, was available to us. There are plenty of tables inside the establishment and quite a large area of tables and chairs externally. The arch question of whether we will visit the "Jolly Sailor" again can only be answered with "Yes", if we happened to be in the area and hungry again.
