Simply adore the Old Bell Hotel. Oldest pub in England with a real sense of history. New owners have invested in renovating and reinvigorating the hotel, but have cleverly blended modern style with the Old Bell's traditional historic features. Worth a trip to see the decor and style. The food, drinks and service all make for a warm and relaxing experience.

My husband and I have just spent a wonderful weekend at this fab hotel! The room was absolutely amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and so much choice and the one dinner we had was also amazing. Highly recommend and thank you for a wonderful stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had an enjoyable 2 night stay at the hotel. On the first night we had a 7 course taster menu which was fantastic, and on the second night we ordered from the bar menu and again the food was of a high standard. The room was a small but had everything needed for the stay. The room had a fan which was most welcome as it was a sweltering weekend and there was no air conditioning.

Stopped in for coffees - beautiful building with very friendly service from the chap on the bar. Accidentally ended up paying twice (one of us went to the restaurant as there was no one at the bar so payment put through simultaneuously - our fault) which was refunded quickly, however a service charge was added to one of the bills and not the other - 12.5% seems a bit steep for 2 coffees and doesn't seem to be any consistency in adding this. Our refunded fee was the one without the service charge. So overall great but yet another venue charging a pretty big 'discretionary' service charge for a minimal effort customer.

Lovely spot for afternoon tea. They tried to accommodate my food intolerances (no allergies) but would have preferred a little more explanation of what was what as I was still served something with cheese in it when tried by other members of the table.

Wonderful stay at the Old Bell! Room was lovely, and the bed super comfortable. Slept so well. My only criticism would be that the room doesn’t have a full length mirror. But other than that breakfast was superb and service from staff was top notch! Can’t wait to go back.

I recently stayed here and booked at short notice. Whilst I found the place on one of the hotel sites. I needed to call to clarify a few details before booking. From the first call the device was excellent, friendly and welcoming. This continued once I’d arrived. The room was well appointed and nice to see fresh coffee provided - a nice touch. I ate in the bar for dinner which was pleasant. Although, breakfast was really very very good. I’m going to make a point of coming back to try the main restaurant as a result. Thank you for making me feel welcome, good value and ultimately a very pleasant stay!

Ate supper in the restaurant after visiting the abbey. Had scallops as a starter and trout as a main course. Food was excellent. The lounge has a 700 year old fireplace.

Went here last night for a work meal as part of our getaway and couldn't be made to feel more welcome. Paf is a complete star and made our evening. On top of this the food was top quality, but generous portion sizes for once, all at a reasonable price. Additionally they went above and beyond when one of our party mentioned in passing they were fancying a brownie, and so surprised him when he didn't order a dessert with a brownie!

Unable to comment on rooms as this was not an overnight stay but just a lunch visit. Incredible place, beautiful place inside and out in terms of architecture. Large and spacious inside, great for those who need a wheelchair or any additional supportive device at their side for mobility. Service was prompt and polite. We had pre ordered so we sat, ordered drinks and before you know it food was served. In terms of the menu, great choice of food and drinks all around. Prices in my eyes are expensive but this was justified. Had a chicken burger with melted cheese, juicy bacon covered in a sweet chilli sauce. Sesame seed bun lightly toasted. Accompanying this was a side of skin fries and homemade coleslaw. For drink, had what was on tap which was cool and refreshing and went well with the meal. Good portion size and left feeling full up for remainder of the day. Overall would recommend this as the hotel itself is a piece of history for the town of Malmesbury...
