Chapter Two Bar And Accommodation

Popped in for a swift drink before an event I was attending in Malton. Small selection of real ale (2 or 3) good selection of other drinks on tap. Friendly staff, good service, well kept beer, clean, comfortable surroundings EDIT: Chapter two is fast becoming my 'go to' place when I am in Malton. Been in both with and without the dog for a drink and went in with the dog (and the husband) for lunch one Saturday. The place was full, lots of people eating, we were told on arrival that service was approximately 20 minutes longer than usual due to the high volume of customers. We were kept updated on the waiting time and staff were absolutely lovely. The ploughman's was lovely and served with a little glass of cider and my husband had the Nacho's off the specials board which he thoroughly enjoyed.

Lovely pub, nice cosy decor. I wanted to write this review as a Thankyou for what did for me this weekend. I left my handbag in there, which contained quite a few valuables plus some cash. A staff member found it and kept it safe for me until I realised the next day. Such relief to have it returned, and shows how trustworthy the staff are for it to be untouched. Thanks again.

Located just off the market square we arrived just after lunch on Friday and parked (free) just outside the bar. Bar was excellent with a nice snug with a coal fire lit 🔥 and a couple of real ales on as well as all the usual beverages. We were shown to our room which was in a complex just out the back. Room was faultless.. clean.. quiet, and comfortable. Good range of tea and coffee and biscuits... Nice ensuite. Comfy twin beds. Excellent and highly recommended. Lots of lovely shops and cafés within easy walking distance and the market on Friday and Saturday had excellent top quality stalls selling locally produced items. Malton is indeed the capital of Food in Yorkshire.
