I feel sensitive and also have to be careful with my diet and this restaurant is also very good in those terms. I have very sensitive hearing and today it is hard to find somewhere without horrible jarring music while you eat - I am very grateful for this place and the cold environment. The choice of beverage is excellent too. I don't consume sweeteners and many places only offer "diet" drinks. I had a beautiful Rhubarb & Rose drink and it was divine - and there was NO sweetener!

A very cosy and relaxing place to chill out and have the best coffee in town. It is one of the shops that I visit when seeking peace and comfort. The staff are friendly, though the service could be quicker.

I have eaten at Home Sweet Home twice and it's fab! The food is great and the staff are super friendly. Really cool atmosphere and would definitely recommend a visit!
If not the best place for milkshake in town, I would say this is the best milkshake I've ever tried so far.. not to creamy, not to sweet but just right that on the spot. I ordered the kicker which the waiter suggested. Well best thing! The service is good, the place is nice too for relax.. long the way from Indonesia to here is worh it! :)

We all had a mixture of mains. No complaints. Caesar salad was the best I’ve ever had and the halloumi fries.

The food and cocktails were amazing. The chicken in a basket had a kick to it and it tasted delicious. The "WUNDER JAR" was delicious as were the extra skittles .... thanks.

Great place for brunch, a lot of choice. Staff helpful with advice on the menu and customising orders. Food came in a good time and tasted great. Just had to remind staff a couple of times about incomplete drinks orders when it got busy.

So tasty, my parter ate the eggs calie and I ate the veggie scramble with artichoke that was so delicious that I could eat that every days of my life.

There are no shortage of places to eat out in the Northern Quarter. All with their own unique style, branding and that little bit of Northern-Quarter-Quirkiness. When we decided to celebrate my sisters pre-birthday meal out at a place of her choice she knew exactly where to go and was happy that she could finally force us all into a place she had been craving for weeks. ...
Eggs Benedict on point! The restaurant at the great northern has definitely more space than the one in the Northern quarter (and a great terrace!)
MASSIVE pieces of cake. Nice coffee. Staff were really friendly. However, I've deducted one star because the toilet was in a bit of a sorry state and had no handwash. Luckily in this day and age I carry handsanitiser. Would recommend this place, but try not to use the bathroom.

Came here again a few months after the first review. Came here with my sister, her partner and their newborn. Staff were really friendly and warmed up some water so that we could make a bottle. Can report that the toilets were in a better state this time.
Beautiful place for a lunch or a piece of cake. The tacos and the fried chicken were top quality and very nicely seasoned. I came back to Home Sweet Home to sample some of their signature cakes. I had really high expectations on the PB jelly one but it didn’t taste of peanut butter at all so I had to return it because was just sweet and nothing special. The lemon meringue one though was really nice. The carrot and coconut cake was moist and heavy - tasted like a Christmas cake. Overall, I think I chose the least interesting cakes. Would happily give it another chance.

Would recommend to anyone, especially if you just happen to be wandering about the Northern Quarter (NQ). Though there's so many other places to sit, this one is definitely worth stopping by to have a nibble!
I had Chicken waffles from Home sweet home. Buttermilk chicken, cripsy bacon, fried egg and waffles with maple syrup on the side. This was a fantastic breakie and my first time having chicken waffles, can't fault the food as it was awesome but I made sure I ate my egg before pouring my syrup as that combo scares me
Chicken was tender and boy did I feel dirty using it to mop-up syrup! Service was great and managed to seat us quickly despite being busy.
My partner enjoyed a vegetarian breakfast and really liked the veggie black pudding which I think tasted a bit like haggis
Love the refurb!! Great place to catch up with friends over breakfast and tea, lovely atmosphere. Their Earl Grey is some of the best I've had ❤️☕
The avocado, poached egg & smoked salmon toast was delicious. I loved the addition of sesame seeds and pomegranate & they give a generous amount of smoked salmon too 😋
Staff were really friendly, the food was good. We came for breakfast and had very nice meal in one of the booths. There was a nice atmosphere and the overall aesthetic of the place was pretty cool. I would definitely recommend it for a nice breakfast
One of my favourite cafes in Manchester. Cozy and great atmosphere. The wait is a bit long on the weekends, but it's worth it. The staffs are friendly and food comes relatively quickly too. Highly recommend ordering something from their cake fridge! So delicious and very filling.
Nice Americano, American pancake breakfast was really nice. Fluffy pancakes, good bacon and a runny egg what more could you want. The first 2 servers we had were great, really attentive and friendly.

Love it here, they've recently upped their game on vegan offerings (the fried chicken is fantastic!), the desserts are always fresh and tasty, staff are delightful and friendly.
