Reserved a table for Sunday lunch. Food was amazing, we both chose the roast beef (Yorkshire pudding was the best I've had in a long time). The staff serving were great , we were seated and served really quickly. The only negative that I would say is that the toilets are down stairs and could do with a renovation but that wouldn't stop me from returning at all next time I'm in Manchester.

Truly great spot to stop for a pint. Gorgeous exterior, really stands out from the street as you approach, although it’s quite narrow so it’s easy to miss. Warm, rustic interior. Plenty of draft options but some solid cask handles, including TT Landlord and Boltmaker. Had to go for the latter. Well-priced, well-poured pint. Front room is for drinking while the back room is for dining.

Checked out this place while in town, it’s a very antique restaurant with half bar half dining concept. Food is pretty good and standard as a restaurant. We had steak n onion ciabatta and ox cheek regiatoni We went for lunch but bar crowd builds up even around 1pm. Can be slightly noisy but all is good!

Love the beautiful green tiles on the wall. The food was really. The standard is consistent with Sam's Chop House which impressive. Although when I tried the fish and chips the portion was a bit smaller than what I had seen others get.

I have lived in UK for nearly 10 years now and I've visited a lot of pubs/restaurants and other places to eat - honestly can say this was the most tasty food I have had in UK. Massive props to kitchen and everyone else making it the place it is! The Scotch egg was divine, please make sure to try it!

One of our favourite dinners in Manchester!! Very old building with lots of character. The food was delicious and very homely. We got the Steak and Ale pie and a Cottage pie, both served with cabbage. Will definitely return !!

Good Sunday lunch menu portions are a good size and service can be a little hit and miss although it was no busy. I have been before a few time the atmosphere was a little dull but the was because there weren’t many people around. Food great as usual I always recommend the Corned Beef Hash. Good choice of wins by the glass I can recommend the Tempranillo. Desserts are good couldn’t eat much more so shared one between us.

Some of the recent reviews were worrying but everything was fine. The restaurant is very old school and well maintained, though the men's toilet is missing a lock. The fish and chips were good, including the mushy peas. The kids roast beef was good though portions perhaps a bit too big. My pie was probably slightly disappointing by comparison.

A small restaurant set back behind a bar, but don't let that put you off. Their friendly staff serve hot, tasty food of very generous portion sizes. We were very pleasantly surprised and both said we'd be back. The corned beef hash took me back to childhood! Recommended.
