Nice bowl of delicious ramen. The broth is really good. They offer beer, fried chicken, gyoza and soda. The atmosphere is very urban. The choices are limited of course. Street parking.
Shoyu ramen was good, shio ramen was better! The "torched pork" in both cases was outstanding.
Koji fried chicken was also good, and you get plenty of it.
Quick and friendly service too - great place to grab a quick bite if you're in town.
My only gripe is that the ramen portions weren't the biggest. Chilli oil at the table would have been a nice touch too. Still 5* though!
Pros:
- really fresh
- fast service
- tasty unique ramen flavours!
The vegetarian ramen was unlike any ramen I’d had before, it was sweet and umami at the same time, good noodles
Cons:
- very small, like sardines packed in
- you feel like you have to eat quickly and rush out
- very limited menu
I don’t regret going but wouldn’t necessarily recommend it or not recommend it. It hit the spot for ramen but wasn’t my favourite nor least favourite. It’s good!
Delicious ramen, we both chose the spicy ramen and it was suitably spicy for my friend who loves spice, yet still also enjoyable for me who struggles with spicy food! Each bowl was £14 and whilst it was high for the amount of food it is a very filling and heart bowl still. I'd say it's worth it!
The space is modern, warm and industrial. A little dark without the sunlight in the main window, but you can still see enough to eat your food haha!
Would love to go back and try the other ramens some day!
Amazing dinner tonight. The fact that the chefs cook the food in front of us just levels up the food experience. The ramen was actually tasty with flame torched pork belly, spring onions, ramen egg, seaweed and the ramen noodle. The experience also includes a Japanese soda (citrus) which is hard to get in the UK. Overall, would come again and this restaurant is just amazing.
How are ppl taking such bright photos? Went for lunch and it was deathly dark. Good ramen noodle on shio. Was annoyed to find it was chicken topping when I saw it used to be pork before. Karage was disappointing. The sauces do not work. Got the textures right but mine had few bones, too. Quick and friendly service but it would have been better w some communication; separately, four of us were queing outside without an idea of when we'll be seated.
I am generally very disappointed with Japanese cuisine in the UK. However, the ramen here is very nice. It would not be an exaggeration to say its the best ramen in Manchester.
I ordered Shoyu ramen, which was very creamy and tasty.
The karaage fried chicken and gyoza was alright.
I would recommend this place, as well as go back again myself.
The food here is absolutely on point. The menu is small making it easy to choose, and the meals are absolutely delicious. We had a Shoyu Ramen, Fire Ramen, and a side of Koji Fried Chicken — they were all so good.
The noodles were perfectly textured, just the right amount of chewy. The broth was rich and textured in both ramens. And the Koji Fried Chicken was so tasty. The chicken pieces in the Fire Ramen were perfectly fresh and still crunchy even though it’s sitting in a broth.
The person who assisted us with our orders and served was amazing. He gave us great advice on what to get, mixed us a custom impromptu cocktail, and bought a great vibe to an already terrific experience.
As a hardcore lover of ramen I can confidently say this is a terrific place to stop.
delicious ramen, fast service. very cozy small place. the broth is delicious, noodles were firm. chicken was not soggy despite being in the ramen. 10/10
By far the best ramen I’ve had in Manchester, the soup was on point and the noodles carry enough broth to make it taste just what I would like my ramen be. Their fried chicken is also delicious, could order them as side dishes if a ramen isn’t enough for you, but it is a korean dressing, not what you will get in Japan!!
