Visited yesterday for the first time for mine & my partners birthday and it was amazing!! The food was beautiful and would not change a thing. The service was amazing and we never had to ask for anything including drinks. Will definitely be returning.
Bloody Good!
Amazing tail end steak & chips (+ Grilled bone marrow) part of early meal offer with a salad starter to die for! Photo shows empty plate because how can you review until you’ve eaten the meal! Good wine selection and friendly staff eager to help especially Charlotte who completes the 5 star dining experience!
I visited the Hawksmoor in Manchester for Sunday dinner. On arrival we ordered some cocktails, they had an excellent cocktail menu and all the bar staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we were sat at our table we ordered a starters of smoked salmon which was delicious and then the roast rib of beef to share. It was one of the best roast dinners I’ve hand and the beef was cooked to perfection. Again all the staff were extremely helpful and were lovely to talk to, not feeling like they were in a rush to get to the next table is a rarity. Will definitely be going back!
Although the bar has its own limited menu you can order from the main menu too. We made the most of it by choosing a range of dishes from across the two.
First up, ‘Short-rib Nuggets’. Fabulous deep-fried balls of melt in your mouth slow cooked beef with a creamy cheese centre.
Followed by ‘Short-rib French Dip’, also known as the best sandwich on the planet.
A sweet brioche bun stuffed with braised short-rib of beef, melted cheese and French’s mustard. Oh, and it comes with a pot of amazing bone-marrow gravy for dunking.
Excellent lunchtime visits on three occasions. Obviously steaks are what they are know for, but other dishes are excellent eg Smoked Salmon

It was because of the lightning fast typing skills acquired during her lessons that meant I was able to procure a reservation during Hawksmoor Manchester’s soft launch on my big brother’s birthday. This epic success has meant that I have now changed my rapper name from Vickilicious to Quick Tricks Vix***. My love affair with Hawksmoor began a number of years ago, when after a day at Wimbledon with my Mum I ate prettily pink rib eye and mushy sweet potato whilst she complained about how dark it was. Love turned into obsession after a visit to the Air Street venue where I scoffed salted rolos and sang old boy band songs. Their addition to Manchester is the best news I’ve heard since that of the demise of Bennifer, and that was a very happy day indeed. The building is impressive with a big open kitchen and old tiles adorning the walls. ‘It looks like a toilet’ proclaimed my mother, who was in a particularly contrarious mood that day, but she is wrong. Fitzpatrick Aviation - With a vimto edge Deansgate No. 2 Full Fat Old Fashioned - Made with butter. I like these guys. Local beer for local people Half price food meant we got a little bit silly. T bones were ordered without the slightest inclination to share, sides were abundant and sauces, plentiful. Scallops with Garlic Steak Tartare
'It won't work' they said. 'People won't pay for it' they barked. 'We already have steak houses in Manchester' they bleated. Well, it looks like every man and his dog have been so far, and utterly loved it. Wind your necks in doubters. Welcome to Manchester Hawksmoor.
It was absolutely imperative that I secured a booking for the new Hawksmoor soft opening. At 50% off the food bill for a few weeks, it was a bargain that I couldn't afford to miss out on. I like the way they organised this initial bedding in period. Instead of inviting the press, bloggers, blaggers and the usual suspects for a big freebie, they opened the booking via email for everyone to get an equal chance of a booking. As everyone who gets in is paying half price on the food nobody can accuse anyone of praising for free food. They had about two thousand emails initially. I heard nothing so presumed I'd not got in. I fired off another email asking for any weekday lunch early doors which we eventually got. Mrs B even took the afternoon off work. One thing I've learnt from reviewing so many restaurants on here for the last few years is to try and not second guess a restaurant. In this case Hawksmoor has been so anticipated it'd be easy to see it not living up to the hype as has happened to so many others ( Reds True BBQ was in hindsight, a disappointment, we've never returned). However everything here is absolutely fantastic on our visit. The food is excellent, completely faultless, the service is spot on too. We even love the beautiful interior. It feels like it's been here for years but the floor and wooden panels are actually reclaimed. (The tables are a little too close together for my liking but this will never bother us as we rarely eat out at peak times).
Try hard to find any review with less than 5 stars. Good luck. From the minute you enter the building to have your coats checked, to the minute you pick them up again, you are in for a fabulous time. The service really is second to none, each member of staff look after you superbly. They are very engaging. Starting off with a cocktail (it was divine and everyone of my party who tasted it agreed) we were shown to our table and Ryan explained in detail about the menu and the cooking of the meats etc. I had the potted bacon with Yorkshires to start followed by sirloin steak (fantastic pepper sauce) and the triple cooked chips are from heaven. Maple tart to finish. All I can say is its a fantastic dining experience and I'll most certainly visit again. Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for. A great night.
Best Roast Dinner
Both the food and the service was exceptional.
This has to be the best Sunday roast in City Centre.
We got the beef rump roast with all the trimmings. It comes with biggest Yorkshire pudding you’ll ever see ha.
We also ordered celeriac mash and sausage, stuffing and mac n cheese for sides. It was more than enough for the both of us.
As for the service, it’s 5 star, the staff are super friendly and very helpful.
All in all not too be missed
We had a fantastic meal at the Hawksmoor in Manchester on friday evening. The service was impressive. Especially from the waiter 'Peter' who really looked after us during our visit. The early bird menu is a great offer & we will definitely return. 10/10
Would defintiely go again, the staff were incredibly lovely and engaged in conversation as well which was nice. I was recommended the sticky toffee pudding beforehand and I can see why. Depth of flavour in the sauce is incredible. The pork belly starter was also really good, the balance of Asian flavours was spot on.
This place is absolutely stunning! The service is incredible big mention to Ben who was so lovely he gave advice on the menu and helped me pick out my now favourite red wine :D all the other staff members were absolutely wonderful as well all greeting you as you pass and just being so polite!! The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE I ordered the fillet steak and it was just so beautiful and soft it just melted away, my partner ordered the rib eye steak and that was phenomenal also! I ordered the peanut butter shortbread for pudding and that was amazing so rich and delicious! 1000000/10 will definitely be coming back for more!
An excellent meal in Manchester. The staff were friendly and very professional. Everyone enjoyed their Summer Set Menu for lunch and wanted to come back. Atmosphere was relaxed yet classy. Hard to go wrong at Hawksmoor!
Incredible food, incredible experience. So good we went there multiple times over the space of a month. Staff and servers are amazing. It does get very busy so advise to book in advance.
We had a really good time at Hawksmoor. I'd heard so many good things about the place and it really delivered. Every member of the team was lovely and welcoming, even the nice chap at the door had a warm smile and waved us off when we left.
The gentleman who served us (his name was Kuba on the receipt) was exceptional. Friendly, attentive, he was patient enough to explain about how each cut differed in price based on size.
As for the food - it was MEGA!!!
Lobster starter with plenty of meat to go at then Chateaubriand main with chips, mash, greens and peppercorn sauce. Zero complaints from us.
Plenty of nice drinks available too. The Hawksmoor lager was a nice accompaniment.
These days you get what you pay for and at Hawksmoor you pay a reasonable fee for a cracking meal.
I can't wait to return.
Thank you for having us 🙂
Atmospheric ambience. Very polite and helpful staff.
I had the sea bass while my company had steak. All were well cooked and tasteful. The Ceasars salad for starter was a good choice.
Ryan one of the staff was just so lovely and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was 10/10 we ordered so much we just wanted to try it all! The cocktails were also fabulous, all staff were absolutely superb.
