The house espresso is possibly my favourite in Manchester. It's rich and chocolatey and all the staff are highly knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. I once had food here and wasn't blown away by it but I'll forgive that thanks to the beautiful coffee.
Hidden in a small upper level terrace at the bottom of Tib St, this little gem is perfect example of the independent coffee culture growing in Manchester.
The warm interior and front terrace are great for all weather. The food was spot on, with good flavours and a unique range of modern subs & sandwiches. The thing that makes it though is the coffee. A smooth drop that will give you that kick start for the morning in quality. They also offer take aways for those running for the tram.
Definitely my favourite spot to sit off on a summers day at the moment, I hope they keep the cold brews coming.
As well as tea and coffee, they sell a selection of beers and other beverages. They have a range of homemade cakes (though not made by themselves as they don’t have a kitchen) and sandwiches, croissants teacakes etc.
North Tea Power is a great places for breakfast (they have muesli and toast and things), lunch or a quiet moment to reflect, collect yourself or just have some me time. My only worry is now I've let you in on my little secret I won't be able to get a seat the next time I need to reflect and collect (or quench my florentine addiction)!
very tasy coffee and food too, busy place but is worth to wait in the queue!
Been here many times now and is my favourite café in Manchester. Highly recommend the passion fruit and almond cake in the pictures!
A little hidden gem in the Northern Quarter, seating inside and out is available. I had some peppermint tea which was great, I went back in for more and the guy did a free re-fill which was very nice of him. Would 5/5 recommend this place!
Excellent coffee experience, tried two different coffees. One by aeropress, using Gitwe coffee
from Rwanda which was a very lovely washed bean very pleasant citrus apple & redcurrant notes. And after i was recommended a Colombian Coffee, honey process & peach fermentation. The rosey peach aroma coming off this coffee is so inviting and delightful, the flavour was wonderfully complex and delicious. From my 8+ years working as a barista in specialist shops and currently a manager at Beanberry down in london, kingston. I hope you take my word for it.
All the best,
J
A fantastic place on the edge of the Northern Quarter, provided you can endure hipsters of all varieties. If rolled up trousers and beanie hats aren't your scene, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
The food here is great, in particular the breakfast muffin which is reasonably priced for a coffee shop in town. Everything is prepared in front of you, and it's all super clean. There's a nice selection of cakes available too.
The coffee's are a coffee-nerd's dream. They've loads on offer, and a long list of fancy teas that would shock even a veteran drinker. There's free WiFi, with good connection, and plug sockets all around, which makes it brilliant for studying (or avoiding university altogether...). The staff are ace and THEY ALLOW DOGS. Need I go on?
Had a lunch of kimchee and cheese, which was excellent. The mint tea (made with fresh mint and a slice of lemon) plus a super cheesecake desert sealed the deal. Its great! Yes there are hipsters but its the northern quarter. Friendly staff and a prompt service too. Nice open seating, a bit of a hidden gem.
First time visit and the breakfast, pastries and drinks were amazing! Will be coming back as soon as I can!
I can't rate the tea (despite the excellent selection), however it us very rare to get a decent piccolo coffee. Usually its over extracted and sour, i took a punt and it was excellent. So nice I had it twice! Tried the cold brew too, more than decent!
Still one of the best places for a coffee despite all the newcomers. Great all-rounder with heaps of effort going into all the food and snacks served. Long established Manchester favourite. A must go.
Great little place, this is my second time coming here and the coffee has been great both times, neat little environment and a really casual and cosy place. Would reccomend
