I have enjoyed food and drink here since 1996 when fuel was called 60/40 . This cafe is truly a community cafe. It's friendly , welcoming . I can recommend the veggie burrito without reservation. Try the sweet potato wedges. All other cafes in Manchester could learn something from the offer here. It's unique without the exclusivity or pretentiousness . It's vegan friendly and the music and art decor illustrate their links to local artists and music communities . Sit a spell and take in Manchester without the hype.

Super cheap! Super good! I take everyone who comes to visit Manchester here, meat-eaters or not. Really nice vibe along that has the perfect balance of cosy and casual.
A great, chilled bar/restaurant/cafe/venue with a cool-but-warm atmosphere and good choice of light and indulgent veggie dishes - but I can never resist having the halloumi 'fish' and chips! Its amazing, and strangely fish-like! Hugely popular with non-veggies and veggies alike, this is one of my fave spots in Manchester
MelbourneHeart. Fuel has a lovely relaxed and somewhat trendy atmosphere about it, you will rarely ever see it empty. Despite the collection of students it attracts you will find a nice mixture of both youth & mature aged people relaxing in its warm walls enjoying the vegetarian meals. At a fairly cheap price i often find myself there for a quiet drink and a £2 bowl of handmade chips. lovely
We've been to Fuel a few of times before, mainly though at night for a drink, when Fuel is in more of a "relaxed bar" mode. On arrival we found that the whole of Fuel's downstairs was packed and upstairs was still messy from the night before, but a lovely man came and sorted us out with a table. We got some drinks in while we looked at the menu - Bailey wanted to try one of the famous Fuel Milkshakes that people are always banging on about, and plumped for a Maltesers one - and it was, as promised, absolutely delicious! Really sweet and creamy - a real treat. Looking at the menu I was very impressed with the selection and felt that although a lot of the stuff featured on the menu is what you would expect of a veggie café (lots of halloumi, falafel, houmous), there were a few surprises on there and a lot to choose from. I love this place. I'm not a vegetarian. However, everything I have tried from this place is amazing. Would definitely recommend. It also does a variety of different things. One of them being live music. Sometimes it is heavy metal though... my favourite meal is the quesadilla with home made chips and a shake (not decided on my favourite yet). Their staff are friendly and food is affordable too.

The breakfast is served till 4pm ! The spicy jerk burger was delicious and so was the full English veggie breakfast.
Had dinner here which was lovely. We were all happy with our food, there was 1 vegetarian and 2 of us (vegans). I had a falafel burger which came with chips, an elderflower drink, a lemon and blueberry cake and a chocolate hazelnut ‘milkshake’. I enjoyed everything! The service was good, the food was tasty, the prices were reasonable! I also parked for free nearby on the main street.
Food is very affordable and delicious. Drinks are again very affordable and alcohol is served strong and generally cheap. They have board games for customers which is a nice touch too. Lost a star because I don't think I've ever seen the toilets in a clean state, same with the tables and chairs. Regardless this is a local spot me and my friends love.

Very cute and cozy place, food was awesome, had the sausage and egg barm and it was great. Very good value for money, the milkshake was amazing. Love that it turns into a later night venue
Cute little cafe! We were there for a gig but the drinks were a good price and the food looked amazing, especially for the price and the portions. The space upstairs for the gigs is a VIBE and is really intimate. More gigs in Withington and fallow! We need these live bands promoted before the scene dies, what a way to do this than here!
Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, let down by 2 bad coffees, would give it another go as even the best places serve a bad coffee occasionally but both the flat white and cappuccino were just coffee and flat hot milk which is a shame. I didn't eat but the menu looked good and well priced as well.
What can I say. This is one of the best places to play a gig. Amazing sound engineer. Amazing room with Twin Peaks stage. The vegan cakes are absolutely to die for! A must visit place for any band or anyone looking for good food with a great atmosphere.
