Turning up without booking at 1.45pm on a Sunday to one of Timeout's Top 5 places for a Sunday Roast, may not have been the wisest thing but the staff were really accommodating and managed to squeeze my wife & daughter in for lunch. And the food was excellent. We shared the Electrik platter, whilst Laura had the kids Roast Beef. The portion sizes were generous and the food was really tasty. We finished off with an amazing (and huge) slice of Chocolate Cake and an excellent cappuccino. The service was outstanding, all of the staff seemed genuinely interested in looking after the customers and pleased to help. Highly recommended.
Great environment, and wonderful staff. Food is always great, and the beer is even better. I helped set this place up when they first opened there doors to Chorlton, and they have totally embraced the culture and vibe of Chorltonites. Please keep it up guys, as you always have. Thanks for keeping the beer fresh, the environment fresher, and the music freshest in Chorlton. I guess what I am really saying is, stay "ELECTRIK"
If the title of this post means absolutely nothing to you, don’t be alarmed. Electrik is a friendly neighbourhood bar and restaurant in the popular Manchester suburb of Chorlton, while Yadda Yadda is the kitchen ‘takeover project’ that has now turned into their full-time menu fare.
As I mentioned in a previous post, Electrik is probably my favourite bar in the Chorlton centre amongst some high quality competition. They've got an amazing beer choice, and a chilled, scruffy vibe, plus they make a seriously good mojito. On the rare occasion we go clubbing in town these days, we always meet there first for a cocktail. But I've never eaten at Electrik , despite hearing good things about their Sunday dinner. I popped in today for a burger. I was very tempted by the Electrikuted Dog; Giant smoked pork dog smothered in chilli and cheese (£6.80). I've seen photos of this beast on twitter. But as tomorrow I plan to go to Dogs & Dough in town, I opted for the Electrified Burger; beef chilli, cheese, Jalapenos, our own dirty sauce (£8.50). Being the greedy sort I also had to get the Mucky Electrikfied spicy fries , cheese sauce and Jalapenos (£4.50). As usual, I had eyes bigger than my belly. Bloody hell it was huge when it arrived.
The vibe is funky, with a great jukebox and playlists from staff, public and the Manchester great and good like Guy Garvey . By day it's a relaxed eating/drinking joint with a book exchange, wifi and daily papers. By night the atmosphere steps up a gear and gets quite busy with locals appreciating the music and sampling the victuals. Food is as relaxed as the surrou

Located very close to Chorlton Tram Station is this charming cafe where you can find the most gorgeous strawberry and white chocolate cake. My coffee snob friend said that he absolutely adores the coffee here because of the great beans they use (says a lot). I had a flat white without syrup (I need caramel in my drink) and to my surprise I actually liked it! The decor inside is very chilled out and warm with comfortable couches with an artsy feel. The waiters were very friendly as well, happily chatting about things on the menu. There is an outdoor seating area as well which is perfect for soaking up the rare sunshine we get in Manchester. But when the sun sets this place takes a complete different turn and transforms into a buzzing pub and it seems like they have a good range of DJ's playing here as well. The crowd is mostly young professionals so you are not expecting any kind of brawls here (phew).
Verdict : Definitely going back again when I am in the hood!
27/06/23: been here a few times over the years, but seem to have not left a review. Great selection on craft ale, although we did have a poor pint, as it was off. Took it back, tasted, agreed and replenished with a different one. Great service. Dog friendly!
I think this is a great bar- nice atmospheric lighting, good music but not too loud, good selection of drinks at a reasonable price, nice crowd and mix of people, friendly staff. I was visiting from London for the weekend and went twice.
A great bar with some brilliant beers and always a good fall back option for when that super 'proactive' barman at Dulcimer refuses to serve you!
Always been a great bar since it opened. Good beers and great atmosphere.
Sunday lunches, especially the sharing plates are immense. The current pizza pop-up menu is also awesome.
Good cocktails and beers, great staff :) every Friday our favorite place 👍
Chilled out place, an eclectic mix of people, playing some good tunes.
Manchester stalwart and Chorlton favourite, Electrik is great place for beers and music. A good selection of different drinks and real character.
Cool vibes, I've heard frequently have some great guest DJs like Andy Burnham (mayor of Greater Manchester)
And the unlimited pizza slices for £5 is pretty gosh darn good - people bring them round on a Long wood tray quite regularly and they have interesting and tasty flavours💛
We came for the happy hour £5 cocktails (until 7.30) and Quingo (Tues from 7.30ish - quiz and bingo). Great place, cool vibe, great spressy marts. Bar service is really quick. The quiz itself is really accessible and fun with loads of opportunities for prizes!
Great service, good range of beers, cocktails and 'specials'. Became a little loud as it filled up.
