Really amazing food - definitely one of Manchester's best restaurants. On the same level with other great restaurants like Another Hand and Sparrows.
Each of the small plates we ordered were really tasty - it's simple ingredients balanced expertly. If I had to dig out a criticism I'd say the chickpeas in the pasta dish didn't really work in my opinion, but that's about it.
Loved it here. Couple of cocktails before we got seated were great. Super popular and busy inside with a buzzing atmosphere. Table service dude was really helpful advising on how much to order and what, as the menu was mostly small plates but a couple were bigger portions.
Ended up trying a nice range of things, everything was spot-on. Wish I had more room to try everything on the menu! Great wines too. Those flatbreads they do are phenomenal! Definitely worth a visit if you can get a table.
Wow. We went to erst as a table of 9 for a birthday a few days ago and it truly impressed. The food itself was phenomenal and reasonably priced for such great quality, and there was an exceptionally long wine list - but the highlight for me was the service. The front of house staff were absolutely lovely - they explained everything to us in detail, from wine recommendations to how to properly eat each dish. A few of us were vegetarian and they sorted us an off-menu chickpea pasta - which happened to be the favourite thing I tried that night. I haven't before been to a michelin star restaurant so it felt quite intimidating but the whole experience was great. They even brought a complimentary glass of wine for the birthday boy and put candles in the dessert. The attention to detail from the kitchen and front of house was absolutely fabulous. Thank you so much, I will definitely be back⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You should try all the menu, because every plate deserves to be tried, even more than once ( for me was the Flatbread ).

We did enjoy our time with food and their special beers. It’s our friend’s birthday. We choose most of the menus. The restaurant is a simple decoration. Muscles and Oyster are our favorite. Food taste is good. Lighter than what I thought. Small menu with limitations of choice. It’s not suitable for wheelchair as the entrance has stairs. Only one toilet for all the customers which is not enough. Beer collection looks different . I have ordered some more beer selections from website. Looking forward to receive them.
A night to remember, I almost cried when I tried the Pannacotta. The service was great, the atmosphere was amazing, and above all, food was perfect. As a meet lover, I confess the beetroot dish was my number one savory food tonight and the best dish of all goes to the Pannacotta which was surreal. We also tasted the spicy Hogget which was fantastic. The pork belly was crunchy and perfectly cooked served with a delicious sauce. The wine also complemented the whole experience. As me and my boyfriend said, we would definitely go back for a night of beetroots, Hogget, a bottle of wine and of course the Pannacotta.
Erst is wonderfully intimate enhanced by the decor and lighting. My husband booked a table for my birthday at 5 pm before going to the theatre and we were excited to try the small plates on offer. I was wild about the whole globe artichoke and every plate was simply gorgeous. My only issue was being asked to leave the table to finish our drinks. We decided to add a final drink before heading off to the theatre and we were not informed that there would be a time limit on the reservation. By the time that they had moved us to another seat, we were finished with our drinks. This move isn't a deal breaker, but it did just take the edge off of what would have been a perfect experience.
Lovely atmosphere and food selection, tried a few dishes and none disappointed. Particularly impressed by the anchovies with peppers but also the rabbit ragu. The flatbred with tomato was slightly too oily but I suppose that’s the recipe :) Couldn’t recommend it enough!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. The small menu changes regularly but every item we tried had something to commend it. Staff knowledgeable and able to advise thoughtfully too. Thoroughly enjoyed on a dark, rainy, stormy night.
Great natural wine selection. We went when they had just opened around lunchtime for a drink so we’ve still yet to try the food. The server was also super friendly and knowledgeable and we had a chat about how the area is really up and coming.
