A bar that's been at the top of it's game for several years. It's always had a good choice of quality drink. And a good selection of snacks.
Just outside of Chorlton but that isn't a bad thing. Nice atmosphere, good selection of beers and the cheese board is difficult to say no to.
Great bar just outside of Chorlton with a good selection of ales and a brilliant choice of bar snacks. We particularly enjoyed the scotch egg and pint!
Good bar with a wide range of beers in Whalley Range (not many bars or pubs here). Decent wifi too. Haven't tried the food but it comes well recommended by friends.
I've been visiting the Hilary Step for several years, and they always have a great selection of cask ales plus some keg and bottled beers. There's usually live music on a Sunday night - I've seen the HS saxophone quartet play there a few times. It can get a bit crowded on weekend nights but it's a peaceful place to chill out during the afternoon, with free papers to read and an outstanding selection of snacks including feta stuffed olives and honey roast peanuts.
This place has a great selection of drinks and the staff are super friendly. The food is excellent too and I would highly recommend a visit.
Im suprised my favourite bar in the area wasnt on tripadvisor- so now it is. If you like your wine and you like good beer- then this is the best place in manchester. you dont have the silly pretence of many a "wine bar"- and you dont have the beer sillyness thats going on at the moment nation wied too. this palce always did and proabbly always will sell good wines and beer. you dont need to creat a sing and dance about it, not charge £4 a half pint. the large tables are great for friends, the croud is good, unpretencious and friendly. theres a mix of regulars as well. The last 2 years saw more snacks and smaller foods make the menu- a welcome addition, especially the bottle of wine./ cheese and ham plate combo. awsome. bar staff always knowledgeable and friendly. What a decent urban bar should be. As chorlton turns in to Islingtons baby brother, this whalley range stallwart still one of the very best out there. Also there are a couple of decent curries shops near by for that extra post drink nibble wither at the end of the night, or between here and the other great bar of the area PI. Go there now for a pint or the Malbec, whaihc is the best stocked in Manchester.

Find the best restaurant in Manchester
Taken here by friends. Did not eat but the range of beers is excellent. Selling Mead which is a first for me. There are a range of different craft beers on offer and you can try before you buy. Not expensive and great atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend this pub
