The Hungry Fish

I tried The Hungry Fish tonight based on the scores of 5 star ratings and great reviews it has. Having grown up near Whitby where you are spoilt for amazing fish and chips, finding a good chippy is often a struggle in Manchester. I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the food served. The fish was really fresh and meaty, encased in a flavoursome, light crispy batter and served with a slice of lemon and garnish of greenery. The chips were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. Everything was prepared and presented with real care by the team. This really is a little gem of a chippy!

Ordered through the 'just eat' app last week. I live locally and didn't know there was a new chippy! I am very fussy and like to read honest reviews so the review about the cleanliness of the shop was what sealed the deal for my placing an order. I love the presentation, the box and bag were very trendy...cardboard box and strong paper bag. Okay so to the best bit the food, well I wasn't disappointed...the fish was large and the batter was light. The gravy was delish also. Keep up the good work of cleanliness, quality and taste as I will definitely be ordering again.

Excellent fish and chips at a good price. The fish itself was really very fresh, had a nice light taste to it and was cooked just right. The batter wasn't too thick, and because they let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving it stays crunchy. The chips were very good as well, proper chippy chips with a good amount of crunch to them, a lot of chippys have soggy chips.

Absolutely love it here, favourite chip shop I’ve ever been to. Staff are very friendly and informative and the food is absolutely delicious. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had, also really good chicken burgers! The kitchen area is spotless and so is the shop. Everything is fresh and delicious and puts a smile on my families face when I bring it home! Would recommend definitely :)

Fish and chips are my favourite meal. I visited here for the first time with one of my grandchildren on 22/6/2018, and I'm glad I did. I had fish with a lovely slice of lemon and chips. Very delicious, especially the batter. He had sausage and chips, which he loved. All served with a smile. A very happy, tasty place.

Wow absolutely amazing!! My mum recommended "The Hungry Fish" after her 1st visit a few days ago so I had to check it out...she loved it. I was far from disappointed. Fish and chips was spot on, nice batter and the peas were gorgeous. Not to mention the sausage and curry sauce. Nice clean shop with great decor..had a real Manchester vibe and in a friendly community. Customer service is 10/10 was nice having a chat with Ash such a lovely hard working gentleman. Will definitely be returning and telling all my family and friends. Keep up the good work. This has to be the best Fish & Chip shop ever!!

First time here, we got a lovely welcome & got great Service from Ash who had a friendly can do attitude. The Fish & Chips cooked to order was fresh, tasted delicious & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend others try it too. Great meal & I might of come all the way from Scotland but I'll most certainly be back!
