My family have been coming to this chippy for years and it is hands down the best to go to in Manchester. Even when I fly back home from Canada, it’s a must to visit here for authentic fish and chips. The curry selection is great, lots of offers and children’s options available. We sit in and everything is cooked to order and the couple who run the place always go out of their way to make you feel cared for. I would encourage you to support this place over the chain shops. I can’t wait to come back again!

Some might say that this is the best chippy in Manchester and from all the ones I’ve tried (quite a few), I would have to agree. I travel from Ancoats to Chorlton for this!

Extremely nice man running The Royal Cod. Fish and chips always fresh, not sitting under a heater for hours. The haddock, which is my preferred fish, comes in small or large portions. A large portion is sufficient for two and the chip portions are very generous. Because everything is made to order there is usually a short wait, only five or ten minutes. You can eat in and there is a 50p extra charge for this. The food is excellent. Cash only.
