My family have been coming to this chippy for years and it is hands down the best to go to in Manchester. Even when I fly back home from Canada, it’s a must to visit here for authentic fish and chips. The curry selection is great, lots of offers and children’s options available. We sit in and everything is cooked to order and the couple who run the place always go out of their way to make you feel cared for. I would encourage you to support this place over the chain shops. I can’t wait to come back again!

Great chippy, good sized portions for the price. Much better value for your money than you get at Atlantic. Love the spicy curry sauce.
Extremely nice man running The Royal Cod. Fish and chips always fresh, not sitting under a heater for hours. The haddock, which is my preferred fish, comes in small or large portions. A large portion is sufficient for two and the chip portions are very generous. Because everything is made to order there is usually a short wait, only five or ten minutes. You can eat in and there is a 50p extra charge for this. The food is excellent. Cash only.

First time at Royal Cod tonight. Extremely good fish and chips and my daughter loved her battered sausage! Generous portions and good value for money. The gentleman and lady behind the counter were really friendly too. We will be back!

Some might say that this is the best chippy in Manchester and from all the ones I’ve tried (quite a few), I would have to agree. I travel from Ancoats to Chorlton for this!
Best fish & chips around by far. Choice of fish cod or haddock cooked fresh when you order. Chips are good to.
