Great place with a great variety of food options and drink options. My advice would be to book a table, but they do accept walk-ins. Really easy to get to as it's 300 metres from Picadilly. Parking around here is a bit of a nightmare so get a Taxi or train if you're out of town.
A friend recommended Freight Island, so me and the wife booked a Carvery for our sunday dinner it's in an old railway depot like a big open warehouse it's a very busy place. Me and my wife found a place to sit down .got our drinks first from the bar prices was not too bad .then we make our way to the back of the queue. Moving alone nicely, we get to a man who asked you what you are having a small meal 2 meats 18pp or 3meats 21pp sides are extra £ 4 par item Cauliflower cheese / state onion stuffing / pigs in blankets. It is what it says you can go up again for free as you've paid the first time round. However. extra not included. The meal is not bad. The one set back is its warm to cold by the time you start to eat it and a bit pricey. Yes, it's buzy .good vibe lots to do if you don't want the carvery. There is a range of vendors round. they also have a guy doing DJ sets. It's not the best location bit out of the way, but piccadilly train station is 2 mins away if coming by train there is also black taxis at the train station. it's not the best place to be at night / after dark No No No. Freight Island is well worth a second visit. the staff are friendly and welcoming. Would I go back yes but not for the Carvery done that. to check out what's on offer with the rest of it. at Freight Island, there's always something going on. check out the website for up to date information.
I've done a better sunday dinner, and it was hot and back for seconds, and without the price tag, of 18 pounds & 21 pounds, we give it a try
I’ve been to freight island around 4 times over the last 2/3 years, in my recent visits it’s improved a lot! They accept walking but I’d recommend booking a table so you can definitely get in and don’t get left disappointed.
Inside they have a number of different business you can order food from, you have to just go and collect it and bring it back to your tables. They also have a number of bars so getting served isn’t normally that bad, there is also an option to pre order drinks from your table and collect at the bar. I’m 99% sure the whole place is card only.
The staff that help run you to your tables are okay they could be a little quicker your left waiting for a while to be seated.
Was at the oktoberfest event, bought the 12.50 ticket to get 2 free pints and stein. Plenty of room to sit both in and outside, plenty of different stalls for food and drink, great atmosphere with the band playing as well. Normally have different events on throughout as well, highly recommended..
The vibe was great with so many different groups of people having a great time. There was plenty of places to sit, some more lively with loud but chilled beats, and quieter areas away from the DJ and speakers.
The food choice was great! As veggies, we are picky. But there were some great options and the curry we had, and the mushroom chips was delish!! And I’ve cream for pudding. Food was ready really quick and ordering via QR code was easy enough.
There could’ve been a better choice of cocktails and pitchers would’ve been better for bigger groups. When queueing for drinks, it can take a while as cocktails take time to make.
Oh, and dogs are allowed too! 🐶 so we took our furry boy with us.
Brilliant place. This was our first visit, and we came along with the kids for the children's activities. I'm not sure we would visit again for this as not a lot going on, but we will look to visit without the kids for a few drinks
Great food hall with indoor and outdoor seating. Good selection of cuisines and booze.
Great food options! Love a slice from Voodoo Ray's and some amazing drink options too with Pomona Island on site for craft beer heads!
Great concept, captivating decor and a very good vibe.
A variety of food & bar options, and a roller skating area.
The only disappointment was the cost of the food. The 1 Pizza slice, extra thin was £5.50, and as I wanted something filling, I decided to go for the Burger but I did pay £8 for it, it was extra for the fries and extra for a sauce to go with my fries.
Book your table in advance to avoid disappointment. Food has to be ordered via scanning a QR code, you pay via your phone, and it's then delivered to your table.
The location is great as it's a stones throw away from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station, literally across the road; a 2-3 min walk.
First visit and quite impressed. Decent range of food outlets and variety of drinks although traditional bitter drinkers will struggle.
Booked in for 12.30 and stayed until 7 and gradually got busier and busier as the day went on. We chose food from a variety of the outlets and nobody had a bad word to say about the food. Order via QR code at the table and swift delivery once you'd got to grips with the tech. No option to order at the counter for many of the food points. Already agreed we will return.
