After travelling from Southport at 430 arriving at 6 didn't expect to be told food is only served after 630 and later find they took my order at 7. Butter chicken was fine but my son didn't like the lasagne. Said it was gooey on top. Should have asked for it be cooked for longer. But the place is busy on a Saturday after warm weather. Will let them off I go by the place twice a day. It gets busy and is popular.

Breaking off from working outside in the heat, 2 of us had the same meal. We had chicken in barbecue sauce with a cheese topping. Garden peas and proper chips. The food is always good here and the staff are always friendly and give great service. There is plenty of seating inside and outside too and weekends are very busy. A good reliable place for a well varied menu.

Only popped in for a drink with mates. Massive pub, but sat outside. The barmaid Emuly was friendly and helpful. Pub has a fascinating history, displayed on green board outside. Good selection of St. Lees beers.
