Decides to treat myself to a nice post-festival breakfast because I got a call in super groggy "I just want to sleep for a thousand years" mode reminding me that I had an eye appointment to get contact lenses sorted half an hour away. So had to launch my self out of bed in an "I smell of wood smoke and look like a goblin" state.
I popped into Spartan Cafe in Levenshulme, Manchester because it had taken over an old favourite cafe of mine and my besties (it was called Isis) growing up and because the new look and arty Greek decoration intrigued me. Honestly, I was super impressed by the decor, the food presentation and quality, the chilled out vibes of the cafe and the speedy friendly service.
The prices were very reasonable, I got this breakfast for a fiver, the drink was £4 and the food was cooked to perfection. 10/10 would recommend.
This cafe is something else, warm welcome from the second you enter.

We tried out the gyros (chicken one and halloumi one) and they were both delicious! The halloumi was cooked perfectly. A good size portion for me, for a very reasonable price. Will definitely come back to sample some of the other items on the menu!
Lovely bunch, great food, just what you need on a Sunday! - really considerate to offer an entire vegan menu, rather than just one choice.
Lovely vibe, can really tell a lot of love has gone into this place and all the staff are always so kind and well mannered.
Special thanks to the ladies that served me and my friend today (I thought I’d ordered two breakfasts for us and waited a while before realising that I didn’t!) they got it out super quickly and didn’t make us feel at all like an inconvinence and we’re super polite about me being an idiot! Will definitely visit again soon, thanks girls!
I love this place, I live 5 mins away and every time I go I leave with a full belly and a smile. The staff are very accomadating and helpful, the food is always hot and tasty. I bring friends here when I can and they love it as much as I do. Can recommend the breakfast sandwich if a full breakfast seems a bit much. It's a little cheaper and is very filling.
Staff are polite. The place has a cozy atmosphere. Good coffee. And they have a reading area with novels etc. They may offer book exchanges but I haven't checked. Haven't tried the food.
My Brother died in February and he loved visiting the Thairish. We all went back here after the funeral on 4th March and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They are friendly and obliging, nothing is too much trouble. They put a suburb buffet on and all the food was delicious. This is a lovely friendly place and accept everyone as an equal. As my brother was handicapped, they went out of their way to accommodate him with his needs.
I will be visiting again tomorrow to treat some of my brothers friends

Lovely place with a great community feel. The irish breakfast is the best breakfast in manchester for my money. Really friendly staff without all the airs and graces of some places, you cant beat a personal service. I eat here all the time and will continue to do so. Would recommend this place to anybody
