Cannot say a bad word about this place went in for a bite to eat served quickly clean table and the steak was lovely just how I asked for and the portion size is very good 👍🏼 over this way

Very friendly and welcoming staff. Pleasant upstairs dining area away from "the pub". Fairly quiet though for a Saturday evening. Found we were sat next to a radiator which was on despite it being July and 20+ degrees that evening.
A decent selection of options on the menu from pie and chips at £15 to Chateaubriand £60 for two people.
Disappointing they had run out of Diane sauce for the steak ( surely they could make their own)? Food was very well presented and portion size was good. Very pleased with my Jacobs ladder bbq short ribs. My partner wasn't overkeen on her lamb which was fatty and rather bland.
All in all a pleasant visit and may well be worth a return visit.

The monthly 8 course taster menu is amazing. Loved every bit of it and the 6 different wines were really nice.

Lovely old pub in the centre of the village, lovely staff and a good selection of drinks.
The food is excellent, if a little pricey.
The pub is also very dog friendly which some may not see as a positive in a place serving food.

Gorgeous food and great service.
I had the honey and garlic chicken skewers on flat bread with salad and proppa chips, my partner had whipped goats cheese and beetroot salad..... Worth a visit

Had a lovely few nights here during our visit to Royston and Mapplewell. Service was excellent as was the food. It was so nice we went back three times including the Sunday for a beautiful roast dinner. Totally recommend this pub and worthy of far more than five stars!
