First time here will definitely be back food was amazing , waitress staff very friendly in fact all the staff very friendly couldn't have done more very surprised to see how quiet it was on a Friday night.
This is definitely one of those little hidden gems at the back of the main street brilliant food not one issue good prices as well.
£135.50 for 5 of us 5 mains 3 desserts and 3 rounds of drinks couldn't have asked for more.

Went in at lunchtime today, had a cheese burger and it was the best burger I’ve had in a long time! Huge burger, chips, onion rings, coleslaw & salad. Tasted great, amazing value, nice pub and friendly bar staff. Keep up the good work!

Lovely pub by the river friendly staff lovely outdoor seating area better than it was before a few years ago the current owners have done a lot of renovation work to make the pub a more appealing place to visit when in the town. Good central location near the town centre.

We had a lovely Covid secure meal this evening. Food freshly prepared as always and we were well looked after by attentive staff. The pub has sorted out it's processes for managing customers in this strange time but we couldn't fault it. Fajitas were excellent and the cannelloni was polished off without complaint.

Lovely friendly pub and nicest one in March. Very accomodating and covid secure and felt safe the whole time we were there. Lovely garden areas and a great ordering system at the table. Well worth a visit and we are going back on bank holiday weekend!

Table for 4 with one Wheelchair user accommodated perfectly. 4 x Carvery dinners were all fresh, hot, tasty and served on a big plate (I’ve noticed other establishments go for the smaller plate option). Recommended. We shall be returning. Great staff effort. Many thanks.

Absolutely terrible service and quality of food was poor. We had to wait an hour and 20 minutes for the our mains. Service was so slow! When the food finally materialised only 4 meals came out. 3 meals out of five were somewhat edible. The forth meal, steak and ale pie was completely inedible as it was burnt and cold. We sent the food back. We were not offered an alternative dish or an apology. The fifth meal never came out of the kitchen!! This meant that two people out of group didn’t get any food. The two young girls at the bar were rude and unapologetic. We were told the chef had a lot of orders. The chef clearly cannot cope with the demand of orders. There was no manger in site. Not once were we offered
a refund, we had to ask for one. The bill came to £65.70 which is expensive!!

Very disappointing bbq on Father’s Day..... poor value meat, sloppy cheap coleslaw.
When we complained the lady behind the bar said” give me the meat back and I’ll take it up with the butcher”..... no offer of a free drink/desert or partial refund. Needless to say we won’t be returning, at £11 a head we expected a lot more.

unfortunately the Sunday lunch on 27th was horrendous. My partner had a roast and everything was so dry and over cooked. The vegetables were from a frozen packet. My cannelloni was cold, no flavour and hard at the bottom..... come on guys u have gone down hill... used to like it.... no more sorry

Truly a fabulous pub that is run by a wonderful hard working family who always make us so welcome!
The food is lovely and all home cooked and I can thoroughly recommend it !

new to the area & my parents came over for the day to celebrate my Birthday this week so I booked table for us 4 lunch time , & was pleasantly surprised with a warm welcome , tidy pub & floor clean ( some places been to have food under the chairs etc) Food cooked to everyone's liking, so yes will recommend, yes will be back , yes give them a try.
