This is a great takeaway for if you're in Margate for a couple of days and want a more chilled evening in one night. The food is delicious, and it's definitely the best takeout I've had in Margate.
I can't fault it!
The reviews were so positive that we decided to order and we were not disappointed. The food was fresh and lovely. We went for our usual favourites as we did not have a menu, so I thought I'd post it here in case it helps others (menu was brought with our food). Payment is cash only.
Really good food good quality, the only thing I'm disappointed is there chow Mein . I would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant to everyone.

My normal Chinese was shut so had to try elsewhere, I wasn't disappointed, food was excellent, staff were really friendly. Will definitely be coming back .
As someone who comes from Asian heritage, having lived in Hong Kong for 10 years and Australia for 15 years, both of which have excellent standards in Asian cuisine; you can be sure that I do know good Chinese food when I taste it... Well I think that New Shanghai is the best Chinese food I’ve taste

I’ve ordered king prawns in black bean sauce and green pepper. Everything was fresh, juicy, flavoured, yummy.
And the lady from the reception very nice and professional. Strongly recommend this place.

Very good food from this takeaway always, the portions are a good size, the food tastes really delicious, the staff behind the counter are always courteous and helpful even if you ask for something stupid. Prices are very reasonable and you don't have to wait too long for your food. Recommended.
We have lived in the area for 3 years, have tried many Chinese takeaways, New Shanghai is the best by a country mile.
Ordered salt & chilli spare ribs, which were the best you can get & believe me I’ve tried a lot.
The duck was also extremely good.
