We visited this evening for a meal and it was absolutely gorgeous, everything cooked to perfection, so tasty. The staff were very friendly and the food came out all together and very quickly. I had the steak and it was Cooked beautifully.
Safe to say we will be back for more.
You don't mind paying a little more for something so delicious.
We eat out once a week and have found that many places are over priced for the food, but I would honestly have paid more for our meal this evening.
Top quality. Will be recommending to everyone!
Highly recommend, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing even kids loved the food to. Lovely friendly staff will defo be back
Loved it, looks great, extremely friendly.
We went on a Sunday so just a Sunday lunch menu, but great choice and quality can't fault, will definitely be going back.
10/10.
Went with my other half for dinner and wasn't disappointed. The pork belly was fab - nice and tender and full of flavour - the crackling tuile was an added bonus! The chicken Katsu curry was very much enjoyed by my other half, and the salmon and risotto was cooked to perfection. First time we've eaten in the pub and it felt comfortable and relaxing. The interior is tasteful and there's a log burner which I'm sure is is great in the winter. Very much enjoyed my pint of Guinness to boot. Staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Will most certainly be going back again!
Great atmosphere. Could really feel the sense of community in there. The host was having very engaging conversations and connecting with her guests. Love that. Had only mains, but it was all very tasty!
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Have been a few times for Sunday lunch and never disappoints, Jo and Mara are excellent hosts with nothing too much trouble.
Highly recommend for good value and beautiful food, excellent wine list and recommendations based on your taste.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Beautiful, modern country pub. Excellent service from happy staff and good Sunday food... an easy 5 stars from us, thank you.
But shall we be rushing back for more anytime soon? Probably not, sadly.
Although very elegantly presented the meals were warm rather than hot, served on barely warm plates. The quantity of meat was positively stingy. My partner chose the beef which was served pink and there was blood running through the gravy. I don't really understand this fashion of serving pink roast beef: it's just tough and difficult to cut and chew... what's the point? Unless it's Sirloin perhaps. But Topside? Nar, it just doesn't work!
The plates were crying out for something green and I thought perhaps a side dish to share of chopped Savoy cabbage and broccoli, I'm no chef but it needed something.
Anyway there was loads to love about the Hind's Head but the Sunday Lunch market is competitive and I'm afraid to say we know plenty of establishments which serve a consistently more satisfying meal.
Keep up the good work and I hope you find this review constructive and helpful.
The food was absolutely delicious and presented very nicely. It is cooked to order and you could tell as everything was fresh and hot. The lady behind the bar seemed a little miserable however, she did appear to be doing everything herself - making drinks, taking orders and serving the food so that could be why!!! The food was so good though, that I cannot rate it any lower. Compliments to the chef!
Four of us ate here and every plate was a delight, could not have been better. Jo was Front of House and ensured everything ran smoothly which it did.
The Hinds Head will become our "go to" restaurant.
Staying on holiday in the area and went in for Sunday lunch after a long walk in the countryside. Good beer and excellent food (my partner had beef, I had the veggie option which was a cajun sweet potato and cream cheese roulade (there was also vegan if required)). Every component of the meal was delicious and the service was excellent - friendly and attentive.
Christmas Day meal was simply amazing. Staff so friendly and efficient. Can't fault the place at all but compliments to the chef - the food was superb
Had a nice refreshing pint after a 6+ mile walk. First impression was very good, friendly staff and a very inviting looking pub. Will revisit for food sometime soon.
