Cracking old real ale pub in the middle of Matlock Bath.
We missed the food, but appreciated the lovely beer, including the legendary Plum Porter.

Found this pub by chance. Popped in and found the place charming. Spent three evenings of our visit to Matlock Bath at the pub. Paul couldn't do enough to make you feel welcome. We will be returning in the spring. Keep up the good work Paul. 🍻

Called in for a fantastic breakfast ,very generous portions and staff were very helpful will be back to try the bed and breakfast as i can imagine the service will carry through from the excellent service we received in the cafe

Absolutely perfect! Paul the owner is such a nice genuine guy. I've been going there on and off for years. The food is always 👌 spot on everything is cooked so well. Really good variety of beers. Get there early and try a bloody good breakfast too!

I came in by my self on a Tuesday night and it was open mic night. Was busy but a really good and friendly atmosphere. The landlord was very friendly too. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. Will definitely pop back in next time I'm in Matlock!

We’ve been here today (20/2/22) in the pouring rain and received brilliant and friendly service (a towel to dry my very wet toddler, along with colouring book and crayons to keep her entertained and some sweets afterwards). Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very well looked after. Thank you very much indeed.

Stopped here today for some food. We had a full English and a vegetation full English, both of which were delicious. The owner(?) apologised for the wait but we didn't really think it had been very long at all. We both really enjoyed the breakfast as you can see, there was nothing left. The price was great, just over £20 for the food and 2 pepsis. The owners were also very nice and chatty. Couldn't fault them at all, fully recommend.
