Booked a table for my sisters birthday with the family. Little high chair waiting for my 8 month old at the end of the table.
What a beautiful venue, love the colour scheme. Staff were all very accommodating and helpful. Fast service too. Food was all done perfect.
Must return in the summer. Would love to see that view out the back on a better day.
Returned after a two year gap. The extension built on the back of the restaurant is superb with views overlooking the valley. Excellent food and service. Definitely a must if visiting Mayfield and surrounding area. Lunch is as good
Food is Michelin standard. I'm a local (now) and spotted the Range Rovers outside every evening. They stream in from miles around for the food. It's amazing. I'm now a fan.

We had lunch on Sunday. Great setting and service. All good excellent bar the Caesar salad. It didn’t have romaine lettuce and the bacon was not crispy nor the chicken grilled. To be fair the waitress bought more crispy bacon out to add. As said everything else was excellent. I will order a different dish next time
Have had the best roast dinner today the roast potatoes were the best I’ve had. The staff worked so hard on such a hot day. I highly recommend if you haven’t been to definitely get booked in and have a meal. We will be back as so many good things on the menu to try. The views are amazing to sit and look at whilst enjoying a beautiful meal. Thank you to everyone who works there what a team you are. Thank you to the chefs who must of been melting in the kitchens getting everyone’s meals out your all a credit to the Middle House. See you all again soon x
I didn't stay at the hotel just had sunday lunch. The food was very nice but the service was slow. We had to keep trying to catch the eye of the waitress...it did get busy but they needed more staff to cope with it.
The outside toilet for the garden patrons was not very clean and there were used disgarded needles behind the door in the toilet cubicle.
The building and location are stunning with fabulous views.
I would go again but not attempt to use the garden toilet facilities.
Went there for afternoon tea. Surroundings were excellent with a wonderful view from the restaurant. 10 types of tea to choose from, so something for everyone. Sandwiches, Scones, and cakes. It was a really great afternoon to celebrate our 30 Wedding Anniversary.
Our group of 12 enjoyed a delicious evening meal at the Middle House. We had booked in advance and were well looked after by professional and capable serving staff. The menu was varied and included both classic dishes and more adventurous modern cuisine. As our group includes a couple of vegans, we were particularly happy that they are also catered for as standard in the menu options. The food was fresh, tasty and well-prepared, and prices very reasonable for such a high standard of meal at a gastropub during the current cost of living crisis. Aesthetically, the Middle House is a smart, modern-furnished restaurant pub with ample seating space for large groups both indoors and out on the large verandah/decking area. Relaxed, smart/casual vibe with a well-heeled clientèle.
Excellent food. Lovely modern Restaurant, beautiful garden terrace to sit and have a meal, with amazing views. In a lovely village, bookings only.
Absolutely brilliant. Fantastic service, a great view, lovely premises. The menu was interesting and varied and the food was excellent. We'll certainly be back.
