Awesome pub tucked away in the little village of Medstead. Family run which is always a plus. Great indoor and outdoor seating. Huge beer garden. Staff are always happy and will help anyone. Lovely atmosphere and worth a visit. Always some good pub chat with the locals or secluded spots where you ca
A traditional village pub with pleasant atmosphere. An ideal place for drinks after a local walk.
Went there yesterday , loved it , good service , food was ok , but could do better. Gorgeous place and nice friendly staff
Lovely pub in a beautiful village. Seems to visited by local villagers and bikers/cyclists, making a friendly atmosphere. Food is very nice, looked like it was home cooked, and portions were huge!
I have been visiting here for over twenty years, through many different phases of management, some good, some not. No matter who's running it, its OUR pub. The lads and lasses who frequent it are genuinely friendly, and regularly help out on community projects. They are all characters, some more tha
Lovely and spacious village pub. Despite not realising we needed to book in advance we were given food which was tasty and very reasonably priced. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating (except to our Liverpudlian friend who - deservedly - got the cold shoulder)! Great pub!
Would like to thank the castle of comfort for doing an amazing job at hosting our wedding reception! It was a million times better than what we could of ever hope for. We are very grateful for them taking the stress away from us seeing as though my wife is 20 weeks pregnant. Would highly recommend t

Had some very nice and creamy Guinness here lovely open fire and very friendly and relaxing and the prices are pretty good too
1st time I have come here, and what a nice experience it was. The location is just is just to the side of the village on a quiet road. It has a beer garden to the side with plenty of seating. We sat outside the front on some comfortable seating under the shade. Drinks were fine and we just had a sna
Unfortunately we were here after they stopped serving food but they were so lovely and let us eat fish and chips there and offered us cutlery and sauces. Thank you to the bar tender 🙏 :)
Very welcoming. Lots of reminiscing and a few tears with all the happy memories
Super friendly owners and staff, great garden area, didn't have food so cannot comment. Family friendly ❤️
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. It's a bit small near the bar area and can get a bit crowded and loud. Dog friendly and everybody loves them being there.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch here today of lamb pie, chips and peas. There was a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. We will definitely return.
Friendly landlord and regular customers are good at small talk. Food is excellent, bars and gardens are great, overall a great place to stop for lunch (we were cycling)
Delcious meal and very warm welcome at the Castle of Comfort last night. Thank you Steve, Lisa and splendid chef. All of the courses that we had were excellent and clearly homemade. It helps that Steve is a butcher, everything to his exacting standards! Efficient and cheery service. Thank you - we'l
Again we've braved the atrocious weather conditions and went to a very wet and stormy Medstead in Hampshire & visited the Castle of Comfort pub. We were warmly greeted by Claire & whilst waiting for her to get us some drinks we were able to appreciate the inside of the 400 year old pub, with its hu
