We love this place! We’ve now been for food several times and it has always been exceptional! The welcome from the staff is second to none and the service is excellent! We had a meal there 2 days ago and once again we weren’t disappointed! Karen (one of the owners) has decorated the whole place for Christmas beautifully! It looks magical! Well done everyone!
Out first meal here. Have been many times for a drink. Lovely welcome by the landlady, seated quickly . Did have to wait a while to order food but it was busy. When the food arrived it didn't disappoint . I ordered shepherds pie with veg, Andy had mixed grill amazing , good value for money.
We called in for lunch before a walk by the canal, received a cheerful welcome and when seated were given first class service from Jesse, there is a very varied menu plus a specials board, real ales. The food, from local producers, is prepared and cooked to order and is delicious but at busy times there may be a wait, be patient it's worth it.
Impromptu Sunday roast today. While they were fully booked, the landlord kindly accommodated us outside. Couldn't fault the service & the meal was spot on. I had the beef whilst my partner had the pork - beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the vegetables, they were so tasty unlike some places where they've had the flavour boiled out of them. Would definitely recommend. Oh & pet friendly.
Rang and booked the table tea time ish. Empty for the first half hour when we arrived. Ordered 2 main courses and 2 soft drinks. Food was fabulous and worth the 35-40 minute wait. Lovely decor, lovely staff. Would return.
Caravanning locally nearby, got 'stir crazy' in the persistent rain, so called at the Melbourne for a meal and a couple of drinks. Friendly staff & locals, nicely presented inside & out. Had the Taylor's Landlord, it was absolutely spot on. I had seafood linguine, my wife chicken & mushroom in brandy sauce with veg. Both meals piping hot, generous servings, and absolutely beautiful. This is not your typical pub food, and we thought very good value for money. We'll be back soon, and recommend you do the same.
Me and my partner had an incredible meal here a few days ago. We went expecting pub grub, what we got was one of the best meals we've ever had! Staff were really friendly and gave great service. I have coeliacs and the gluten free options were really good and the staff knowledgeable about their food. Really impressed. We've recommended to all our friends and family. Thank you!
Great food we had for starters chinese flavoured belly pork and halummi fries. Main meal beef ale pie and fish burger. Worth the drive for something different. Hope I can visit here again.
Great local pub with friendly service and patrons. Great hot sandwiches and good quality.
Not too expensive like wise the drinks .The pub was clean and tidy like wise the gents.

We only called for a drink during a walk down the canal, but ended up having the Sunday lunch. Our table of 4 decided it was the best Sunday lunch we'd eaten. Nice pint too. Recommended highly!
